No problem. I bit the bullet on a dual band N router earlier this year and have noticed no improvements from my old G router:o Yes it offers the opportunity for increased speeds - but in the real world I am limited by my ISP performance and the power of processor of the device - unfortunately your only as strong as the weakest link in the equation.

Wireless N would have been cool - but at the end of the day I won't even notice the difference. Probably should have just kept my old G router:(

Only place you would notice N would be with large file transfers and longer distance.

Quick question. Need help...
I bought a LG env touch 4 months ago with a 2 year deal.
My wifes mom was in need of a phone so I switched my number over to my wifes old Rouge phone and gave it to her. There is no service on my LG phone can I sell it and the esn be clear?

Not sure of the brand but i have had good luck with New-egg. It is also rated well by people who have bought.

bought the same card yesterday, i was a little concerned with the 6 or 7 reviews that said it stopped working after a couple of weeks, but the more of them I looked at, they all seemed to have some of the same reviews.

i think there is in the beta version. that will be coming out soon too. right now you can't download the beta version any more if you go onto swypes website it says due to such a high demand you can no longer download the beta version of swype.

I have that beta version (was lucky enough to get it). Unfortunately it doesn't have the microphone option, so you have to switch back to the Android keyboard

Actually he has been pretty active in the irc chat. Feel free to join in the conversation over there as well.

I don't understand the disappointment over not having wirelessN.

802.11g supports bandwidth up to 54 Mbps - unless you have an internet connection with download speeds greater than 54 Mbps N has no real world significant advantage. And even if your connection is faster than 54 Mbps the phones speed would be restricted by the 1ghz processor.

Better range with N (been post a few times). No need to have your router in mixed G/N mode which I believe(not positive) hinders some of the distance/speed benefits of running N', among other things...

the reason why i wanted wireless N is because from ive heard it uses alot less power to run, not sure how true that is though.

Yup, I agree with you all. But at the end of the day I don't see the omission of N from the phone as big deal or a reason to be disappointed when looking at everything else this phone has.

I just wanted to hop in and dispel this myth.

Black Tie Protection is great for the fact that there is no deductible and they cover any and all damage to the phone, including water damage.

However, they DO NOT automatically issue you a new phone. When you bring your phone in, BBM will issue you a loaner phone. They will then take you over to Geek Squad to send your phone off to attempt to be repaired by whichever vendor they happen to be using at the time.

The vendor will then (over the course of 1-4 weeks) attempt to repair your phone. If they are unable to repair your phone and have a unit available, they WILL send you a refurbished phone. If, after 30 days, they are unable to repair your phone and no refurbished unit is available, you can visit the store and they will do an equipment swap that day for a new unit.

I am very familiar with this process because I have had to send my DROID off for repairs twice and have been without it a total of 7 weeks since purchasing it. I am now beginning to have a problem with the micro usb port, so per their lemon policy on the third return I have the option of switching to another phone retail -> retail.

Needless to say I will be switching to the Incredible which seems to be a more quality phone. I am also looking forward to the faster Snapdragon, internal memory and Sense UI.

Come on little DROID, hold together until the 29th!

Thanks. this will be the first phone I've bought from BB, so I only know what the guy told me. He *FAILED* to mention this process. Good to know.

BTW- there was a good article/review on the net of N' routers....Scratch that, it was my consumer reports mag a few months ago that had it. Most N' routers did poorly. I think they only recommended 3 out of the dozen or so. Linksys did pretty bad in thier tests, which i wouldv'e thought the opposite. For the life of me I can't remember which one did exceptionally well. Hope I still have the issue laying around at home. Anyway, the few that did good did very good and the rest suffered either good distance, or slow speed.

so who's going to be on verizons website at 12:01 am tonight since the website says the 19th, but the email you get when you sign up now says the 18th for preorders... i'll be checkin!:D

still expecting it to be Monday, but might as well check it out!

Does anyone think that elongated bottom on the HTC will result in an uncomfortable typing experience? It appears that the iphone is perfectly balanced.

Please disregard phone size.....

I have a friend with a Droid, and he told me that is a problem with the droid. The keyboard on the droid has a touch pad on the right which makes it difficult to type because the keyboard is off center. Time will only tell if it is an issue on the Incredible. Need to get some hands on time.

Just FYI, I am doing the 2 yr contract. Why? I get an upgrade before 2 yrs is up anyways. I bought the DARE in July of 08, and I was eligible for an upgrade March 31, 2010. It's less than 2 yrs. I think this phone, in all its sexiness, will last me that long. Personally.

Chances are most people won't need to use the insurance on the phone. Put $10/month into a savings account. If at some point, you need to replace the phone, use whatever you have saved to help offset the cost. If you don't need to replace it, use the money you saved after two years to buy a new phone.

Why pay someone else to insure your phone when you can insure it yourself is what I say.
because if you dont have insurance and u mess up your phone you will have to buy the phone retail

I'm going to be honest here...that nerd stalker video has been posted numerous times. It even has its own thread. :)

Anyway, I am really excited to see what accessory makers do with this case. Seeing that it covers the whole phone, there are endless possibilities. I can't wait for Seidio's $800 1500mAh battery! We'll probably even get some flat cover backs. :D

Sign up everyone!

you're eligible to upgrade after 20 months with verizon for their NE2, thats why you are up for an upgrade now in march when you bought the phone in july. 4 month difference for a total of 20 months vs 24

Also, looking at the phones side by side..man the Incredible looks like the iPhone. The only reason I'm worried is that apple got a patent for the design, and could sue HTC for that design. I hope this doesn't happen. I dont see it happening since there are differences between the two. they are not exactly alike..just the curves.
