I gave up on wifi tether... I don't think it the app, I think I did something to cause it.... however I did get the built in hotspot to work :evil:

Except that Motorola does not have the tools to validate the accuracy of the MEID's that are submitted by prospective MFN members. Validating MEID's would be difficult since they don't likely have a comprehensive list of the people that phones were sold to/re-sold to/traded to/given to. Anyone who enters the wrong MEID during their MFN registration could be giving someone else a free shot at an early update. ;)
 
Relax people. You'll get it when you get it. I'm actually missing some things that don't work in ICS yet. First and foremost, I want my launcher back. Come on Fredrico, get to work.

This scenario could happen, but it gets back to my original point. Soak tester or not, anyone who has ICS now courtesy of Motorola would need a new phone if the soak was a fail. And it does appear Moto has released soaks into the wild before.

Finally, while a soak tester could fat finger an MEID, could they do it twice exactly the same? My "friend" had to enter it to join the Moto network, be in good standing there, then reenter the exact same MEID to join a soak. Moto can at least cross reference their forum database...
 
I spent all of Sunday doing 3 different methods REPEATEDLY. None work on my unit. I have read quite a few posts from many other users like me. jeffgoff (Razr utility maker) helped get a few up a running with the error 7's like mine but the options he had them do I did and didn't work. I think there must be two different versions of the firmware whether anyone admitting it or not.
 
I just got done talking to Motorola via online chat...and apparently the soak test isn't complete yet....but is very close....they have no timeline
 
Do not worry about what the reps say online. They are all tier 1 and have almost no idea what they are talking about. They aren't stupid. They just aren't told a lot. If you want ICS now you can sideload via the guides on Droidrzr.com. or just be patient for the OTA.

None for me yet. As already noted, they do it by serial number, not location.

I think they probably know I already ordered the SIII and just don't care about me. ha.
 
I'm guessing that the 30th is when we will see it... It's a Saturday before the end of q2. Verizon hates to release updates in the weekdays in case of messing up work phones

I lifted similar to that off another forum. Had errors on razr profile, etc.

This fired right up, but I have no wifi device to try it with, will attempt tonight.
 
If voodoo does its thing, i doubt you'll hear until the full release...just so moto doesn't know and close the loophole. When the update is released to everyone, i'd hold off installing until it's verified.

I recall that most releases have been on weekdays so that there can be support if there's an issue.... interesting guess :D
