**** OFFICIAL **** ICS COMING SOON thread... Post all questions and info here!!!!

There has been ONE date where VZW and Motorola stated it was being rolled out. That was this week. Everything else was "experts" guessing or going on "leaked" information.

The rollout is taking place over the course of a week or so because there is no way the network could handle the large number of Razr owners all downloading at the same time.

And, it's a big download. My phone got very hot during the download, and I've never had the temperature issues I've read about here.

He's probably missing the point of where it's a staged rollout, which confuses a lot of people. He's probably expecting the update because someone else has the update right now!

"He" is not missing any point nor is "he" expecting the update because others have it (I'm right here, by the way). This is not my first rodeo with Motorola and Verizon, so I'm fully aware that I'll get it when I get it, and not a moment sooner. My original question was based on that there's a lot of mis-information floating around forums and blogs, and I'm just looking for a straight answer: Is ICS being rolled out to Razr owners or not? I'm not sure how I can ask that question any clearer? Is it still being internally tested by Moto/Verizon, is it in a soak test status (limited release), is it delayed, or is it officially rolling out to customers?

Official roll out. Its just taking time because of the large file size and large number of RAZR owners.

You're just going to get another "unofficial" answer here, as no one that I know of here is directly involved with the OTA.

Personally, I think it's fun to get excited about an OTA. I remember the big hullaboo when I had my HTC Droid Incredible and a big OTA rolled out.

Next we'll be seeing threads of those that were excited to get ICS complaining about it. It's just the way things go!

Here's a bee for syntrix

Yeah but we knew Adobe was going away. The said that would happen a long time ago. They are planning on HTML5 making Adobe obsolete.

Thanks for the replies. I'm just a little frustrated at the wildly different reports that are out there, but such is the way of the Intertubes. I was excited when 4.0.4 was rolled out to the Galaxy Nexus, but alas it didn't fix my problems which is why I'm now posting in the Razr Maxx forum. ;) And this (ICS for Razr) is definitely exciting, and I know "I'll get it when I get it" and I'm fine with that; I was only looking for a status of the rollout, that's all.

Strangely, as I wait (im)patiently for my DRM ICS update, my wife's OG DINC (which she bought several eons ago) received the ICS update notification last night! I didn't even think that phone was going to receive any more OTAs, especially after I rooted it to fix the /data/data storage limit error. But now she is updated before me and my new Razr Maxx...

Update: this is *not* ICS...I did not let her do the update yet, just saw the message this morning that said 4.0.blahblah and assumed it was ICS, but apparently it is not. Just some minor revision to 2.3.4 on the DINC, according to DINC forum posts.

For anyone who doesn't know, a factory reset should be done after the ICS update and before posting any issues. That usually fixes any bugs after major OS updates.

And most broken apps or widgets probably aren't optimized for ICS.

♫ Someday over the interweb, we'll get ICS. But It'll probably land after the 2nd quarter, so Verizon is full of ......... ♪♪ :p

Power is out at home so I'm a bit on the frustrated side...stupid little storm comes through and BAM, out.

Just saw you are in NC. I'm in Charlotte and no ICS for me or my daughter. I don't think the roll out is regional but it will be interesting to see if you and we get it close to the same time. We both have the RAZR and I think we have callouses from looking for the update!!
