Would it be better to purchase Metro SIM Card for Nexus 5 online then activate it via *228 or
purchase it in the store?

Hello,
I wanted to make sure that my sony st15i (Xperia mini) is not compatible with metro before buying a new phone.
Apparently there is an annoying difference between the st15a and the st15i
If someone could tell me that would be great
With the *a* you'd get HSPA+ in refarmed areas but the *i* you'd max at 2G
Being this thread is in a carrier forum, I see no problem answering an iPhone question that is on topic.
Just be careful with the fruit round here.... Storm troopers love this forum, these are the droids everyone's looking for....
what? lol
Hello there. Take a look around and you will find some other threads that have already asked that question. But, yes, the Nexus 5 will work on Metro's BYOD.
I went to a MPCS Center to question BYOD Google Nexus 5.
Don't you know he told me That it would not work on Metro unless he unlocked it, and activated the SIM card all for $100.
I told him that he was crazy. (I have balls since I have N5 ordered).
Please don't let them rip you off.
I ordered SIM from online MPCS, and plan on activating via *228.
That sounds about right,hey?
Yep.
Lex, start with either doing all your Metro stuff yourself on-line or by phone or sticking to a Corporate store or only an Authorized Dealer someone recommends to you.
It has been common for sometime for Metro Authorized dealers to get away with whatever they can and Metro will only address an issue (that I have seen) if it's particularly egregious. You are also less likely to get screwed over at a Corporate store as they tend to stick to company policy tighter.
But yes, if I understand correctly, assuming you are a new customer to Metro, you could have gotten the Sim card on-line for $10 and only had a $15 new activate charge. If you were already a Metro customer it would have just been $10 for the Sim card and you'd activate that over the phone.
