I guess I'll get it when I'm lucky enough to get an order in. I don't have time to keep refreshing or switching back an forth between colors.

What is insane is, they have hundreds (who really knows how many) of people begging to hand them $700 to hold until they decide they are ready to ship the Nexus. They're like, no thanks, I don't need your stinking $700. Keep it.

It HAPPENED AGAIN!!! It said "add to cart." I added to cart, then it went to my cart. Then it disappeared!

My page monitoring programs haven't detected any changes since prior to 2pm eastern. This is for the 64gb versions only. I'm not monitoring the 32gb versions.

I think I am sitting out of this pre order fiasco. I still want the device but I'm strapped right now and figured the pre order was going to be a mess anyway.

I was on the button the very second it went live.

Put a 64GB in my cart with _Lightning_speed, not a moments hesitation.

Within a millisecond it disappeared right before my eyes.

Being completely prepared I would have completed the transaction in less than 15 seconds.

Tried again, sold out.

I am just speechless!

It sounds like the pre-order program is just a test to see the level of enthusiasm. They will adjust production accordingly. I expect my carrier, at&t, to have a device for me shortly after it becomes available. They need to do the heavy lifting.

The cynical might even posit that it's just a new server-load testing program from Google. ;)

On
I thought I read about a few lucky people on XDA being able to grab the 64gb models.

If true, I don't know how they accomplished it.
After scouring the blogosphere, it seems a very few 64GB models were successfully ordered before selling out.

After mine vaporized from my cart, I tried within moments, going as fast as i could. Despite our massively fast connection at work as well as my ultra fast workstation PC, there wasn't a way to keep up.

I also tried to obtain a 32GB but they were sold out at the same warp speed.

This launch experience reflects rather poorly on Google.

Pre-ordering has become a bad idea. If you don't believe me look over on iMore. People that pre-ordered iphones are still waiting while people that ordered later already have their phones.

I honestly believe that pre-ordereding is merely a test for manufacturing levels. After MSFT got burned on the Surface and now Amazon on the Fire phone, everyone is afraid to ramp up production until they feel safe that the demand will be there. In both of the recent roll outs, the iphone 6 and Nexus 6, the product was somewhat of a gamble. Apple and Google weren't certain how their substantial fan bases would respond.

I was away for awhile. Are they officially out or do they magically appear now an again?

Reading the XDA forums, some people are saying they are still able to get through occasionally (pretty much 32gb, if so). Don't know how true it is, but it can't hurt to keep checking back throughout the day.

I'm still not sure how high the demand for this phone actually is. Yeah, on here and XDA people are complaining about not being able to get one, but you've got to remember just how limited this pool actually is compared to the total number of in-market shoppers.

Plus, it's more expensive than the past few Nexus models, and it will, at some point presumably, be available directly from the carriers, which is great for people who want to buy on contract. Couple that with the non-existent advertising outside of tech circles, and there's no reason the demand for this should be anything like what this whole preorder nonsense is making it out to be.

What a debacle. I knew this preorder would be a huge epic fail. Why cant Google ever do this right? I'm still going to try throughout the evening but i know its going to be pointless. I might just go to T-Mobile in two weeks and order the 64 GB version.
