The Nexus 6 isn't the first Nexus AT&T has had. They carried the Nexus S, and they definitely interfered with it.

Out of the box, it came with a custom build of 2.3.4 that disabled the stock Wi-Fi hotspot feature unless you were paying for it. And it never received any OS updates.

Thank you, I usually buy unlocked phones from a source, therefore I hadn't seen any Nexus phones over the years at AT&T.

Now that I know, I will cancel my order from AT&T and wait for the Play Store to fill an order for me.

Granted, the Nexus S was also before the time that Google seriously grabbed control over the Nexus line and was from 2010. This is an archaic example in the Android World

So far one person said the rep they talked to called the warehouse and was told their order was being prepared to ship, this after an Email saying it was delayed. Maybe the delay email is some strange way of preparing to ship?

I don't know?

I don't know what to believe anymore? Ha!

Still nothing with Verizon and I can upgrade as of today. Starting to take a very close look at the Turbo but really like all that has been said and shown about the Nexus 6. May hold out a couple more days but if nothing by Sunday may just pull the trigger on The Turbo. Have no desire to jump ship with Verizon. January I will have been with them for 12 years. Driving me nuts. Is it Google or Verizon I've seen folks pointing to both.

The last rumor I read was that Verizon tested it and gave Google suggestions.

It's Verizon without a doubt. Every other major carrier in the US has already announced or is taking orders for the phone.

I hope not, but there are multiple reports from reviewers with the Play Store version of the phone who say that T-Mobile's "My Account" app installed when they put a T-Mobile SIM in the phone. I can't imagine it would be different for AT&T.

I don't like that a carrier can dictate apps to install on a phone I didn't buy from them, but fortunately it's a minor inconvenience, as they can all be uninstalled.

FYI: I've had ever Nexus phone starting with the Nexus One. I have used them all on T-Mobile and have never experienced that.

Blog sites have already stated that the 'unlocked' model (1 single phone) (whatever tht means, guessing play model) works on Tmo, ATT, Vzw...

You wouldn't have; it's a new "feature" in Lollipop that allows carriers to define a list of apps to install when a device is activated on their network.

The N6 will be the first phone that supports it.

I can't specifically speak to VZW ,I can however speak to ATT. When you put an active network sim in a phone their system recognizes whatever phone it is. (OR should recognize whatever phone it is.) So it's not a question of IF it will work on VZW network - it's built to work on ALL networks. It's a matter of if they will LET it work on their network. The carriers have all the power here ya know. Without service our phones are lovely little mini tablets that don't make calls and can't access the internet away from WiFi. The "normal customers" will always out number the power users and tech fanatics, they won't ever change for us. Just know that and deal with it and you'll be happier. ;)

That said, if you b*tch long enough and loud enough you usually get some token response that includes a discount or something else to appease you and hush you up.

Verizon being a CDMA carrier operates differently than AT&T. GSM networks are open and designed to activate any device that supports the frequency the network uses. CDMA is a closed network that only activates devices on their approved "white list" (usually determined by ESN/MEID). If the Nexus 6 isn't is on their white list, it won't activate. However early tests seem to indicate that it is for the time being, even though Verizon isn't selling it.

True...bit those apps can easily be uninstalled. No problems there...same as uninstalling apps from the play store. This is a non-issue in my opinion.

My GP preorder from 10/29 just generated an email from my CC company about an "absent purchase" like it did when I preordered! I am guessing it'll ship tomorrow.

So are you saying there's nothing to be concerned about? That we'll get regular updates direct from Google?

Another person had a chat with a rep and they were informed that a shipment of Nexi were stuck in a customs facility near LA and could be the reason some have received an delay email. Or not. Who knows anymore? Ha

I don't know. The carrier nexi seems a bit sketchy. Maybe I am just being skeptical. This release seems a bit odd too. Just, I don't know. I am starting think I will be better off waiting for a bit to get this monster. My n5 is (still almost brand new again) anyway.

I have a feeling that AT&T will have a say over the updates if you get the phone through them. It was like that with my Nexus S, and they loaded no bloat on that.

Good luck to those who ordered online via various channels, Im going right down the street to the Sprint store and buying one. I'll post my full review in 5 mins so IFFFFF your preorder ever comes in you'll know what to expect...

ps - that is a joke if you cant tell im throwing jabs out...

If you ordered thru Motorola then sign up for fedex delivery manager. The phone is showing up as in transit with Wednesday delivery, for some, even though on Moto site it says not shipped. I signed up. Still nothing for me, of course.

People over in the Android Central forums are starting to receive shipping notices from Motorola. I called to try to cancel my order a few minutes ago and was told I couldn't because the order was released to the warehouse. They couldn't provide me with any tracking info though.
