***Official Photon 4G Accessories Discussion Thread***

I had a screen protector from best buy, but I took it off because I don't like the rubbery feel. So much nicer without protection.

Amazon added more accessories, including the Amzer cases that many people purchased for the EVO. I don't really like having cases on my smartphones, but just in case anybody else was looking at other case options:

Amazon.com: motorola photon 4g - Cell Phones & Accessories

Has anyone tried the Amzer cases? I really like the flexible silicone/rubber type of cases. I just bought the Motorola Photon and I am currently using the silicone case that I used for my HTC EVO. Believe it or not, it fits. Unfortunately, the holes are not in the right place so if I want to plug it in, I will have to remove the silicone glove.

I was hoping someone else had already bought the Amzer case and could give me a review.

Thanks,

Kim

I've used Amzer cases for my EVO (early on) before, but I wasn't really a fan of any cases period. The Silicone/rubber cases, from what I recall, were a little "loose" fitting as compared to the TPU cases.

I'm sure that the feel of the case will be just as much the same as your EVO case, except it'll just be fit specifically for the MoPho. The amzer cases are so inexpensive anyway, that I'd imagine if you liked the one you used for the EVO, you won't be disappointed with the one for the MoPho.

From what some have reported, it doesn't fit.

Thanx..
There's sum 1900's on Ebay too...Don't know if they fit either...
Waitin on Seidio to cum out with sum...Hopin they'll make a 3500 like they did for the EVO 4g...Thats all I need to make me happy...just like it did on the EVO I had...That battery kicked ass...

Just wanted to add some updated information on the cheap screen protector I purchased from Amazon...It scratches easily!...LOL. I don't mean just cosmetic, I mean physically you can feel deep scratches. I already have a couple (must've brushed my keys against the screen without realizing it).

Anyhow, still holding out hope for sgp to make one.

How do the Seido ones hold up? You mentioned previously they're very similar, does that include durability?

I bought a generic Sprint screen protector when I bought my phone (mainly just to get a discount on the car dock, was still cheaper than buying the dock by itself) but have not installed them yet. Not sure if I will yet, but exploring options.

Related: does anyone know if you return one accessory bought under the "buy two get a discount" program, do you have to pay back the difference? It would be rather unfortunate if returning the unused screen protectors actually cost me money. :p

Saw those. I'm not convinced those are compatible, but if you're willing to be the guinea pig and try, I'm sure your input would be appreciated.

I actually haven't swapped out with the Seidio one yet. They seem very similar as far as shape/size is concerned. As for quality, I'm not sure.

Good question regarding the discount on returns. I'm actually not sure, but would like to know also.

I just might do that...Hey they're cheap...So I can't lose much ...The only thing is that they are comin from Hong Kong and shipment time is like a month...By that time there should be sumthin out there I hope... The EVO's got their stuff out there quick...but they are takin the time with the Photons...But then again it hasn't been out that long...

The original EVO's took a good amount of time until products were released, so I'd imagine the MoPho will be similar (since it's 1st generation on Sprint, much like the original EVO).

If the Droid Bionic ends up using the same battery as the MoPho, I'm sure more aftermarket batteries will start popping up quicker.

So any word, whisper, or rumors on when the laptop dock is supposed to be coming out for us. It was originally advertised as having one and Im holding out for it since it would be a lot easier to carry around than my 10 pound laptop while at school.

None yet, ehich sucks knowing the Bionic is coming out with one.

TS out
Yeah, and the phone was originally marketed as going to have one which is another let down. It would be interesting to see if the Bionics laptop dock is cross compatible without some Jury rigging.

on the motorola site they have a car dock and also a TV dock i think, i forget what it was. but i know they had 2 different docks available for sale on their site

Just purchased these this morning.
Given that my wife and my sister in law all have this product (for their evo 4g's), i don't think there will be much of an issue.
3 batteries, even at 1500 mAh for 13 bucks is more than reasonable.
I'll let you folks know how it goes.

Definitely report back if they're the correct battery replacements though. Some had reported that BH6X and BH5X did not fit in the MoPho.
