Official Release Date Rumor Thread

Ok...cleaning up the posts a bit. I was rather excited to get this opportunity.

I am not going to say "I was told" this or that...I don't want to get anyone in trouble, and there are no pictures because this dude said no pictures..he could loose his job...I respect that and the fact that he let me play with this phone for near an hour while he drank his beers.

There are a number of factors that can effect release...but as of right now let's say "I gathered" release will be Sept 2n't for At&T


It's been well speculated that this device would not have LTE...and "I gather" it does not. It is of course 3/4g and speed tests were slightly faster than that on my phone using the xtremelabs speed test app.

I have no idea of what to look for in the phone for nfc...that isn't something I am even interested in using. cool idea..but no thanks


"I gathered" there would be another software update to this phone prior to release. I also "gathered" that he had no idea what it would add.

The menu had some extra features in it I had not seen before...a ton of tweaks and settings. We may not see those on release. I will have to think about what they were, I was so overwhelmed by all of this.

Very exciting! Can't wait to get one.

I have now missed my opportunity to mess with this phone in person 3 times now.

I wanted to be the one to have all sorts of inside info :D

Let's chip in and buy "the guy" all the beer he can drink! I sure hope this is true (like someone said: nothing personal, but we are on the internet) and we only have... 16 days? I NEED another phone and I don't want to go for anything else knowing that the SG2 is coming.
 
So did you "gather", lol, if it had the exynos processor or something else? To me coming off an Iphone 3g i don't think it'll matter if it's a dual core exynos, tegra 2, or snapdragon or whatever.... it'll blow this apple paperweight out of the water.... but i'd still like to know....as would a lot of us.
 
I am just ready for this dang phone to be released!! The only thing that sucks tho is I don't have an upgrade anytime soon :( but I really don't want to be stuck with my iPhone 3GS. I am so ready for a droid!!

I doubt that that would be known on the Samsung side...I bet that would be carrier determined. I am curious ...is there an app that one could dload that will give you full details on processor ect..it seems like I have seen some stuff out there...just trying to remember what to do to determine what is in one if I get my hands on one.

Are you early upgrading to get this phone to? That's my plan lol
 
I would have to wait like another six months...October will be a year that I've had my iPhone so I am gonna have to buy it out right, which luckily I can afford because I have been saving up since I first heard about this phone. I just sit here and wonder tho if I should wait till I can upgrade and maybe there will be something better out.
Decisions Decisions Decisions...ugh idk what I will do. lol

that's not bad, seems like exynos levels.

when you first open quadrant go to "System Information" the information under "Device" is the relevant information
 
WHAT! No keyboard? What could this phone be then?

I "gathered" that as well. Sprint is supposedly doing their own thing...and I first thought that this would be their version...but "I gathered" all 4 Galaxy S 2 phones would not have keyboards, and that the images of keyboard phones floating around were in fact mid range phones

Did you also gather that all four models will have dual core processor?
 
My guess is, the "Something big is coming" announcement will be either about the slider phone pictured above or about the new CELOX with the 4.5" screen, rumored dual core 1.5Ghz processor, and LTE.

Isn't this speculation fun?? lol j/k

I myself wonder if the Celox is the SGII variation that Verizon will get later...

"I Gather" They will release theirs last, as the Bionic is going to release and they do not want the two to compete...and I wouldn't put it past them to want to release something better than what everyone else released.

The Celox could even be the next Nexus.... which I "gather" Verizon will get before anyone else does.

At this point I don't know that I am going to run out and buy the SG2 right away...there are too many devices swirling around haha.

What is the unpacked app? It's advertised at the bottom in the last frame of the video

I also guess Celox might be the LTE SGS2 that verizon is getting later. But I don't think it's the same as Nexus Prime. Celox spec is WVGA resolution and Prime will have HD resolution though both might have 4.5" size screen.
