Even our balls don't agree!I knew it!!!!
You think this is bad, you ought to read the iPhone forum at MacRumors.Com. Makes it look like everyone here is on Zanax.I think most of the reason why the hostility is growing in here is because we were all set on finding out the release date on August 30th(and very very hopefull it would be released that day)
Wow you guys are getting all upset over a week or two, it's kinda stupid.

Might I remind you that I started this thread way back in g-d June??? We'd been hearing about it coming to the US long before that. That fateful day in June just happened to be after a name was given to the device, a forum started for it, and my impatience setting in. BACK IN JUNE!! We were told July. Then Late July. Then August. Then late August. You get the idea.
Shark, if we had a confirmed date I think you wouldn't see all this anger and concern over this damn phone...if you think Samsung and the carriers haven't botched up the launch of this phone then I must disagree with you.
But here we sit, well after a big press event with still not a word on pricing and availability dates. You say it could be just two weeks (and I'd agree with you) but really we have no clue. It could be mid to late October before we see this thing released. All of this after months worth of release teasing, and Samsungs own CEO saying "Will be available in August".
Why they didn't get this hugely popular phone out there and get people to jump on this thing and essentially lock themselves in a contract, or get iPhone users to come to the "dark side" is beyond me. Now its so close to the iPhone release (or the even more power fall android line up), that many of them will probably wait. In my opinion, Apple totally gains by the delayed release of this phone, and if Apple were smart they'd announce details and availability of the next iPhone within a week or two to stop potential sales of this phone..(unless this new iPhone is nothing more than a warmed over iPhone4). Maybe Samsung feels they've got bigger and better things coming soon, so maybe it isn't a huge deal to them?? Who knows.
Yes I'd like to have the phone, but I'm more ticked at the way this has been handled than I am anxious about getting the phone.
I doubt. They are still selling the Infuse for $199.I have no actual proof, just what I have seen online and what the other SG II variants are being priced, but I will be surprised if the ATT&T SG II is priced higher than $99.00. Like I said no evidence just a feeling.

...Maybe if Costco carries it with their 90 day exchange policy for any new device that might come out I might give it a shot, but if they don't stock it I'll wait... .
...My Infuse REALLY is good enough...

When this Costco return/exchange policy was discussed and debated earlier in this thread, I decided to go down to my local Costco and see what they had to say. There were 2 guys working the booth. I specifically asked one of them if I bought the Infuse using my AT&T upgrade option, and then brought it back in 89 days, would I be able to exchange it for the SGS II or some other model that might be released by then, and if so would I be charged only the difference (if any) between the upgrade price I had paid, and the upgrade price for the new phone? With great certainty, he said absolutely yes, no problem, that's how it works.
Then, the other guy in the booth, who seemed like he had been working there longer and may have been the other man's senior, and who had apparently been listening to our conversation, came over and corrected his colleague. He said, with great certainty that NO, from the 31st day to the 90th day, you could only exchange for the same model or return the phone and get your money back (and of course I would still be obligated to my 2 renewal contract with AT&T).
I asked to see a clarification of this policy in writing, and all they could do was point to a sign on the wall referring to the 90 day return policy, which was vague and did not address this all important question.
I don't know who to believe, but I think I'm just going to plan on doing whatever I need to do within a 30 day window, rather than have to deal with this fuzzy issue.
Do any of you Infuse owners ever feel the phone is too slow or laggy? How about the text looking jagged? I realize the SGS II will have a faster processor, and that the screen should "look" like it has a higher resolution because it will be smaller (isn't that right, same super amoled screen with same resolution?), but in real world everyday use I keep wondering if I'll notice any difference. If I buy an Infuse and get used to the hugeness of it, I'm wondering now if the SGS 2 will even get me excited when it finally appears in the store? By the way, I do a lot of multi-tasking, and use Pandora, Skype, etc., but I'm not a gamer.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
P.S. - Sorry this post is slightly off topic and doesn't specifically gripe about the release date![]()

But that ship has already sailed, two weeks doesn't matter. That was the difference between May and September, not September 19 and Oct 2.
BTW, the iPHone 5 is much worse as nobody knows anything about that...or when it's coming out.
I dunno, there's definitely too much complaining over small things on the internet. This is like a very weak version of the ENDLESS whining that went on for months and months over when Captivate was going to get Froyo...that makes this look like a picnic, and over what? Now that froyo's out it's like, what a stupid thing to get so upset over, it's not even that great.

Absolutely! I used my friend's Infuse last night and it was a piece of crap. Praying the GS2 is lightyears ahead of it, because that thing was incredibly slow and had horrible reception. My Blackberry Curve was getting WAY better reception (both on AT&T) in the same areas. His internet was really spotty as well. Definitely happy I didn't go with that phone, and DEFINITELY not impressed.

You are correct. However every other SG II variant for sale in North America (That I am aware of, at least) is selling for a price point around $99.99 granted ATT&T could easily decide to not go that way. I doubt that they will tempt many customers if the AT&T SG II is a hundred dollars more than any other carrier.
Like I said just my opinion.
And I guess while we are getting off topic, I will post thiswatch the video
Back to the Future II shoes real, and making a killing! Coolest Gadgets

I am guessing he is referring to the Sprint version for $99 at Walmart. See attached picture. I hope it puts pressure on AT&T to not over price.......So who are all the carriers in North America selling variants for $99? You referring to that one tiny company in Alaska?
