Feel this pain. Ever since I drowned my iPhone 4 two weeks ago, I have been using the original iPhone (EDGE connection and all). I am really rooting for the Attain for this Sunday..... or at least early September. I am going to stop by the local AT&T store on the way home and see if I can get anything from them.

Yeah I feel you man. I hate the slow slow 3G speeds......I can only imagine being on EDGE again LOL. I actually tried out a demo model of the new LG Thrill at my local ATT Store and it felt really good in the hand. It was fast.......real fast compared to my 3GS. I just don't know how it would compare the the Attain.

Man, really? You think AT&T's 3G is slow?? My sister's iPhone4 on 3G is about as fast as Sprint's 4G. And 4G is only available dead center in large cities. Sprint's 3G sucks donkey................................

Something I just thought about. When they say they haven't heard of it, what if you called it by it's ID... i-777? Maybe they have something for that in their computers? Don't know... just a thought.
 
No love from my local (Escondido CA.) AT&T store (corporate store). I got handed off to a lady that has helped me before who I know to be very knowledgeable. I asked about the Samsung Attain saying along with it the Galaxy S2. She knew nothing about it and said they would normally have promotional stuff in store by now (Thursday) for a Sunday release. For kicks, I asked if she heard anything about the Baxter project for Sunday and watched to see her reaction. She didn't flinch.

I mentioned having to wait for the Samsung announcement on Monday which she didn't seem to know about. When I asked about the LG Thrill, she said they had a demo unit, but couldn't let customers see it. Definitely a rule follower.
That is a good idea about asking for the phone by its model #.

Verizon passed on the Sgs2 for the prime fyi...




They will have it first. Thought I had told you guys that already but i could be wrong.

Sadly everyone is right....if the Attain were going to release this Sunday they would have received shipments today tomorrow or Saturday :(

As for people not knowing about it....it is not uncommon for a phone to release withought the normal training etc....but it doesnt happen often.


For those that were asking about ICS and kernels... were you trying to determine by kernel if the Attain I played with had ICS? It vety clearly was on 2.3.4 but I was told there would be at least one more update prior to release.

One of my sources at an att store called today but I missed the call. I will call them back tomorrow.

You have to look for the indirect answers to your questions when people have signed documents with risk of fines or jail time.

I normally don't post on these threads, but some of these "freaking-out" posts are unbearable. Yes, we all want to know when the Attain releases so we can buy it. But, what good is knowing the release date one day earlier really going to do; you still can't buy it until it releases. If it doesn't come out until October, it's not the end of the world. You can wait or buy another phone that will have very similar capabilities. "Freaking-out" about it is not going to change the release date.

If it doesn't come out soon, I'll probably have to get another phone just because my GPS on my Captivate doesn't work well (I travel alot for work). It's not the end of the world because this definitely won't be the last phone I buy. Hell, I'll probably upgrade again this time next year. :D

We've been waiting for a release date since...what..May? I started this thread in June. We've all been waiting a long damn time. Some of us are stuck using a crappy device, holding out hope for this phone (July release. No, August release. No, late August announcement, possibly October release.)....I know I'm in the minority, but I'm losing damn money waiting for this phone.

If we could have known in June or July that this phone won't come out until October, we could have made other plans. Or, if we knew it would be an early Sept release, we'd have some sort of peace of mind and just try to be patient.

The uncertainty is what has everyone up in arms.
 
In the Linpack screen capture, it shows the Name as Nachomommi. Is that a common thing and why user Nachomommi picked his user name or does the phone belong to him?

The phone does not belong to me, that is the name I entered in when doing the test

Moto has closer ties with Verizon than any other carrier.

Google has just acquired Moto...

1st Carrier to get Google's Nexus Prime is Verizon??? Jus Sayin ;)

I know they have closer tie with Moto which is now acquired by Google. I'm still not sure they are getting Prime first if at all. Some folks are saying it's going to AT&T first.

I'm concerned about overall future of android phones since Google acquired Moto. Maybe next nexus phone will be made by Motorola which will be sign that Google will favor them over others in android updates. That will certainly pressure samsung to shift their focus to WP7 and their own BADA. HTC will be pissed off too. I don't like that scenario as Samsung makes better phone hardwares than Moto. I don't think Google/Moto can become another Apple.
 
Sweet. Kind of strange, though, that the Sprint one doesn't have Sprint branding at the top like the others, and like the previous Galaxy S variant.
 
I will only buy a Nexus phone if it is Samsung. There is no point in having the best of everything and then a substandard screen.

It isn't going to ATT first. Att will get the Nexus phone last ....Verizon gets it first for passing on the SGS2 ;)

It's also rumored that once Google incorporates the Moto patents into their portfolio that they will sell Moto ...so it will be curious to see what happens

It troubles me that the Sprint version is front and center....that could definitely be pointing to their release of the phone on 9/9 being first :(

Don't be so quick to judge, mergers like these can spawn a new era. This will give them the ability to push the limits with both software and hardware really sitting down and working together. Maybe they already have a secret phone planned and this merger is just part of the deal. I mean they aready came out with the fingerprint scanner, something I really wish the SGII had.
I just hope they get rid of motoblur :rolleyes: maybe... Gooblur ;)
