Official Release Date Rumor Thread

Checking my local ATT stores, not authorized sellers, actual corporate owned stores, I see different hours. I have 2 withing 10 miles of me with one opening at 10am and the other at 11am. I know which one I'll be at. Everyone look up the temp fix for the lockup problem. What a surprise, ATT has a problem with their version of the phone that Sprint didn't have. At least they are not saying anything about delaying the release. At least YET!

aaaaaaaaaaand now i can go to sleep a happy man. that's all i needed for best buy to price match. i'll be there bright eyed and bushy tailed tomorrow morning as soon as the doors open
That is a heck of an idea (using Amazon to get Best Buy to price match). I printed out that pricing to bring to the store.
Good luck everyone!

As far as price matching goes, it looks like Best Buys official policy is the store has to be local and not on-line.
"Best Buy will match the price if you find a lower price on an identical available product at a local retail competitor's store............................The Guarantee does not apply to: Our competitors' website prices..............."
Can't hurt to ask.

There was a time when they would do it...every time this year I have tried they not only require it be brick and mortar, but within the local area, and they call to verify on hand inventory

good luck to everyone!

look forward to reading how you like it!

As anxious as I am to buy this phone today, I am going to wait until someone properly tests and demonstrates that the GPS really works well. Despite the software/firmware fixes, my Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) has never been very reliable (i.e. - consistently quick to get an accurate fix and hold onto it).

I purchased a Samsung Infuse 20 days ago, with the intention of exchanging it for the GS II today. However, in those 20 days I have found that although its GPS is way better than the Captivate, it is still nowhere near as reliable as many other smartphones from other manufacturers, which makes me wonder whether or not Samsung has finally gotten its GPS act together with the GS II.

I am very surprised and disappointed that in all these "hands-on" and "unboxing" reviews we've been seeing in the last week or so, that they have overlooked this. It was a huge known issue, and still remains a major criticism of the Galaxy S series, and I am simply stupefied by this omission.

Have any of you yet seen or read a review that discusses this? If so, I would appreciate if you could point me to it. Thanks very much.

I thought Worst Buy didn't match internet pricing? Or local pricing if the name of the store did not have a "B" in it or more than 3 rest rooms or if the walls were painted light green or the day of the week was and even number?

Absolutely agree. My Infuse GPS is crap and yes, I have tried every fix possible posted on XDA and lots more. Things is, when someone "tests" it they stand still in one place and if they get a lock they say "it works great." Mine "locks" fine while stationary but while driving it absolutely sucks. My iPhone 3GS & 4 worked as well as my former Garmin 100% of the time. I don't understand why Samsung can't get it right.

+1

I don't know about anyone else, and I'm not surprised. I had signed up to be notified by ATT when the phone was going on sale and what do you know, no e-mail. They can't even get THAT right! In 1 hour I will be arriving at the ATT store. In about 1 1/2 hour I should be a proud new owner........

when i bought my infuse they price matched amazon. regardless if they won't do amazon i'll have them call a walmart since it's virtually the same price and local.

If you live in a big city, best buy can go as far as to say the wal mart is in a different zip code, is more than a mile away, ect. There is no definition of the word local.

I'm going to run to Walmart first, before going to the ATT store. I tried going through there website and it shows it for like $165, but it looks like it will be a ship to store type of order. I'll find out in the next hour.
