I hope you are right, but I don't have a good feeling about it. This phone will be marketed as a multimedia powerhouse- better than anything VZW has previously offered. Spec wise, it will bury everything else on VZW's network when it is released. I can see them including a 32GB micro SDHC card to support the HQ audio and HD video files that this phone can handle. Plus, the Bionic is $299 on the web site right now. I can easily see VZW charging $349 for the Vigor considering.

On the other hand, I absolutely agree with you in that I would be happy to supply my own micro SDHC card to save some money.

Didn't realize the Bionic was $299 for most - when I log in I can upgrade my line to a Bionic for $249 just like the Thunderbolt when it first came out. And I'm not even due for a New Every 2 yet, it says December (I think my last one from what I've read?) - anyway, thought the "new hot phone" was still $249 with a 2 year contract, was hoping the Vigor/Incredible HD would be no different.
 
While I'm excited about this phone, somehow this speculation thread leaves a lot to be desired from the OG DINC speculation thread. By this time in the game we had people calling Verizon threatening to leave if a date wasn't given, fat men with white Lexus' with boxes that they didn't want anyone to know about, Montana Man dropping bombs about secret knowledge. It was mass hysteria. While I feel a bit of a buzz here, overall it's a bit . . . meh.
 
LOL...no kidding, something like 3-4k posts and 300k views, it was epic. But to be fair, I also think the Dinc was rumored for far longer than the Vigor has been, and in comparison, a far sexier upgrade given the phones on the market at the time. But good times were had by all...that thread is where I accumulated most of my meager post count :D

Those were insane times for sure! I remember checking the page number of the last post before I went to bed, and then again first thing in the morning. If there were 7 or 8 new pages in the morning, I knew we had news...or drama...or both!:D

Not only that, but Verizon has kept a EXTREMELY tight lid on Vigor information meaning there's less to gossip about :P
 
As everyone reading this knows, a rom dump from the Vigor was discovered within the last few days. Some of the well known dev's are working on porting the Vigor rom to other devices. One of the dev's working on a port for the EVO 3d / Sensation is posting over at XDA that it looks like the Vigor has only a WVGA screen, and this is based on how the ported ROM looks on a device with a native resolution of less than WXGA. Apparently though, some of the different screens look like they could be WXGA.

I'm sensing that sort of situation on the Nexus Prime forum. Over 1600 posts with better than 40k views and its likely another month behind the vigor for its release. Also, I think many are devided between the Prime and Vigor, creating two good sized groups instead of one huge one.

It was the most epic phone thread EVER (imo)

Wish we could catch 'lightening in a bottle' again and experience the epicness all over again. Pity i only lurked then...
Truth is while those of us that followed that thread will never forget those times are all but over. I've seen 'insiders' get run off, users harass them, etc...
Perhaps vzw and the like are just more secretive.. hard telling... wish there were more leaked info/pics/rumors/sightings/testers risking jobs to post... It is what it is though:(

Though i have caught some flak for it, i've been trying to funnel info to one central location by merging rumor threads and closing others. Would like to see ONE place where we congregate and share info/speculation/rumors etc....

Not sure how well that has been working though:(

You and I both know you'll catch flak either way. :D

I like the single thread approach at this point personally. It's all rumor/discussion right now anyway and that's the title of the thread afterall. I can see a few other threads later when legit verifiable info comes out to serve as a quick reference for those interested passerbys. Otherwise it seems too fragmented at this stage of the game. JMO.
 
This is driving me crazy! it's a few weeks till the Vigor is released & all we have are 2 pictures of it & not to many official specs! no videos are popping up of it either.

What's going on? is this phone actually getting released?

Relax. it will be released when it is released. Rumors said radioshack had it listed as oct 20. it already passed through the fcc so that usually means it wont be too much longer.

It is 249 for me also but I just meant for others it is 299. I hope verizon does the same with the vigor make it 299. They get the components cheap so they shouldn't need to charge much more and even if they do it would be off contract price rather than the upgrade price that would be affected. the bionic is $20 more off contract than the charge yet they are both 299 on contract.
 
I know this is sort of coming out of left field, but when I was in crackhead mode over the launch of the TB there was a lot of chatter about a PandaX guy who was giving out info. I believe he was a tester, developer, or something or other. Does anyone know what he's been up to? Has he said anything about these rumored phones? Thanks so much.

Also, does anyone know his exact twitter name? I've tried searching quickly while here at work, but got nothing. Thanks again.

He no longer tests for Verizon but he still has good insider info.

If this phone really is less than a month out, the ammount of rumors and leaks is extremely low. Either Verizon learned some lessons from pissing everyone off about Thunderbolt delays, or it's not coming out in October.

I've been watching his twitter page for a week or so now. He's talked about the Vigor, and at least at one time (if not still) has had access to one. He's also one of the guys responsible for the big poetry-filled, Prime leak citing November 3 as a release date. Anyway, he's been hinting that he may do something similar with the Vigor.

Maybe more requests are in order...

I tend to favor the former. We've had photos (including a press photo); alleged internal memos from VZW (multiple memos-specs and release date) and Radio Shack (release date), certification by BTSIG, wifi and FCC; and a signed RUU rom leak. Yesterday, OEM batteries for the Vigor (BTR6425B) began popping up for sale at accessory sites. IMHO, we are looking fine for an October release.
 
I've conflicting stories about this phone. Is the TB 2, Dinc HD or something new totally?? Also VZW needs to stop trying to screw ppl over with that $299.99 price tag. Sprint/ATT both are selling GS2 for $199.99 and that is a far powerful device than Bionic and possibly this one.
 
I'd definately like to see more photos of this phone. Hope it's coming soon. What I'll probably do is get this and check it out. If I'm not happy, return it for the Prime in Nov. And when I'm not happy with THAT one,I'll wait for the Dinara...and when... :D;)

Really, the things I wanna see that'll make me happy with this phone is 1gig ram which it'll have. This is the main thing for me as my Droid is so freakin slow due to this limitation. Second, I want a good screen. Solid colors, viewable in daylight,no screen door looking matrix. Just a solid, good looking screen. Third I want everything to work as it's supposed to work. The camera takes a good pic when I click it and not one minute later all blurry; Navigation to actually work right unlike on my Droid where it jumps and jitters and locks up; flipping through screens and opening/closing apps isn't a lesson in patience and futility;and battery life to last most if not all day. I use mine plugged in alot so that is important but not a deal breaker. If it's decent,I'll be happy. In short,I want it to WORK...that is all....
