The biggest reason for the delays is Verizon's approval process.

I have always believed this, and it makes me not hold my breath with respect to VZW release dates. I'd be jubilant if Vigor is on sale in 2 weeks :), and not surprised at all if it is held up until after the first of the year

I honestly think it just got lost in the shuffle! Between the Nexus Prime and the Droid Razr/Spyder, I think VZW has it's hands full.

However, like Trophy said I would have deff thought HTC/VZW would have said something by now. I really cant see the Vigor going head up with the other BIG Shots that VZW is getting ready to release to the masses...Unless someone really loves Sense, I cant see them choosing it over the Thinnest phone ever...lol, or a pure Google Phone. If it was alone without these other 2 monsters dropping, then I think it would do some dammage!

I do like Sense, but the other phones give me pause.

The Razr maybe the thinnest, but with LTE inside, what's that going to mean for battery life? Look at the Bionic debacle. The reason it was delayed was battery life. Then they come out with a phone that's just as thick as the competition and get's the same battery life after 4 months of re-engineering. Now they want to try and go for the thinnest phone? that makes me a little leery.

As far as Samsung, their history makes me hesitant. Build quality, GPS issues, update issues, etc. Even before they got into android, their phone build quality was junk. The Fascinate was nothing spectacular and to me was the worst of the high end androids offered by Verizon last year. Maybe some of these issues will not apply to the Nexus, but I also don't like the idea of no microsd card, which it sounds like is a reality just like with the Nexus S. Everyone says to use the cloud, but with data being something to be monitored for some that's could be an expensive omission.

I have always had good luck with HTC phones. Their battery life may not be the greatest, but when we're talking about a difference of an hour or two, that's not enough to make me write them off. Yeah the Thunderbolt had it's problems, but they were under the gun to get it out and be the first LTE phone. Samsung, LG and Moto had more time to iron out the issues with their phones, and I'd bet that when their phones started out, they were LTE from the beginning. The Thunderbolt was supposed to be 3G and then was delayed to add LTE, that requires a comlete rework of the internals. Then on top of that they were required to be the first one to be released.

cmon eipee i know you can wait a lil longer.

pittsburgh man, pittsburgh.
Holy crap! A Sara Underwood sighting! LOL:)

Couldn't said it better myself
+9999 to all of that

To those who own/owned the TB, what was the major downfall with it? Although I'd really like the brand new phone coming out, that price is pretty swell.

I have herd the battery was a huge thing

Battery is/was a big issue for me, and I have even resorted to turning off 4G in some areas to save battery life. Although I will say that rooting and changing roms makes it easier for me to get a rom that isn't as power hungry. I updated the rom on my TB a few days ago and can go about 8 hours and show 40% battery life which is better than it was a few days ago where I'd get 5 hours of use out of it and be left with 40% battery life.

Are the other 2 phones going to be as locked down? I'll take whichever phone is easiest to root and since I already have practice with HTC, the Vigor seems most appropriate for me. I just hope the battery life is improved.

Haha I can be patient on this one I think. I did wait for a long time for my DINC....just time for it to go and I can't wait!

I'm trying to be patient but my son wants my DINC to use as a HTC-pod Touch. MY youngest son is using my wife's old eris for that now.

Waiting for the DINC nearly drove me insane.

It has been along time since the Incredible rumor days. I remember waiting and then pre odering it.

Seems like all of the incredible guys are split between prime and vigor. I'm sticking with HTC. I just got a Bionic to mess around with for 14 days until the Vigor comes out hopefully and I hate not having sense.

My wife is getting mad at me again since im reading about this phone constantly. Been lurking through the vigor and prime threads and I hope the Vigor comes out first.

Incredible guy here also, and that's kinda where I am, although I'm leaning towards the Prime, especially if it's not loaded with bloat and comes unlocked.

That said, one rumor circulating now is that the Prime won't have a removable battery, which may be a deal killer for me. I have three batteries for my Incredible along with an external charger, and can't remember the last time I had to plug in my phone.

I've also heard that the Prime will not have external SD slot either. Or was that the Nexus?

Prime and Nexus are still a little confusing when it comes to names... I've used the two interchangeably when referring to the one coming to Verizon near the end of the month.

Not having an external SD slot isn't a deal changer for me as long as it has 16 GB of memory. I would absolutely prefer an SD slot, but could never see myself needing more than 16 GB (don't watch movies on my phone). I have a 16GB microSD in my Incredible right now, and don't even touch the 8 GB on board memory. Removable batteries are definitely more important, as I spend a lot of time away from an outlet.

4th!!!^^^^^^^^

In my never-ending search for ANYTHING related to my next phone, I noticed a slight change in the VZW web site this evening. Until this evening, typing the word "Vigor" into the search bar on the main screen would take me to another screen showing no results found. Same results for Rezound. This evening that changed. Now, typing "Vigor" into the search bar takes you to another page that shows the search term as "phones," and lists 5 results. Those results are links to all HTC Phones currently offered by VZW. This result appears without using HTC as part of the search query.

Rezound, by the way, still brings up a page saying that no results were found.

Link to main VZW page: Cell Phones - Smartphones: Cell Phone Service, Accessories - Verizon Wireless

I know that it's very small, but hopefully it's a sign that Big Red is still pushing this phone towards a release in the near future.

And yes, I agree that I'm clearly obsessed with the Vigor...that's okay.

I bought the video out cable for my Incredible, and used it quite a lot until I got my Thunderbolt. The fact that it might be compatible with the Vigor is very exciting for me. Although I have grown fond of the Bolt's kickstand ...

I didn't pre-order my Inc., I was at the store bright and early on April 29- were you one of the lucky ones that got yours before it was officially released?

The Prime looks pretty slick, but I can't bring myself to buy a Samsung- as much as some people harp on HTC, it seems from reading up on these phones that there are more issues with Samsung phones overall, and that those issues are more significant. On the other hand, My Dinc1 and Dinc2 have been nearly flawless.

Most of all, I LOVE Sense, and I just can't see myself getting a phone without it now. I've tried just about every custom ROM out there for my Dinc1, but I always come back to some form of Sense- it just makes my user experience much more fluid and polished.

And yes, for the love of all that's holy, please let the Vigor drop before the Prime, and SOON!

Preordered and got mine the day before launch. The Verizon store rep was really thrown for a loop when I called in asking if they had cases in stock. He said how do you know if you want a case if you haven't got the phone? I said "Well..." He just couldn't believe that I had mine a day early.

I have been browsing the Nexus/Prime/whatever it's going to be called official thread. While I am kinda considering it, the omission of the microsd and issues that seem to come along with Samsung phones keeps me away from them. To find out now that it may not have a removable battery kinda clinches it for me. To me that's one of the biggest advantages over apple.

Anyway, I saw a post on that thread that just made me laugh. One guy was saying that with the amount of posts on there that the Nexus thread will probably be the biggest thread of any phone before it comes out. At the time they were currently at 62 pages. I had to point out that the Official Incredible thread was almost if not over 1000 pages. Does anyone know what the final count was before it was removed from the forum? I know it's not there anymore as I did a search. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? NightAngel?

I agree with DroidAV8R. Sense is a big reason why I'm sticking with HTC. From what I've read, Sense 3.5 is meant to be a less resource intesive version of 3.0. Couple that with a dual core 1.5GHz cpu, possiblilty that my Inc1 tv-out cable is compatable, and an HD screen and all I have to say is "What has 2 thumbs and wants the Vigor? This guy!"

P.S. Except for having to do a factory reset after the Froyo update, my Inc1 and now my Inc2 have been flawless as well. The Inc1's even on screen #2 after an unfortunate mishap, but it's still going strong.:D

It's still there ;) lol. 962 pages and close to 50,000 posts.

If you go through the pages in Inc section just pay attention to the dates, if was closed on launch day

That is so funny! The same thing happened to me. Got the phone delivered at work the day before the release and walked to a VZW store asking for a case. The guy said the same thing. Then I pulled the phone out of my pocket and he walked right to the back of the store and got me a case. :D

Nice, I'm sure Verizon has taken steps to make sure early arrivals don't happen anymore- still might pre-order (if available) to give to a shot:D

I was pretty surprised to hear that the NP won't have a mirroSD card, but I am shocked to hear that it might not have a removable battery- especially since the more power efficient LTE radios aren't available yet. As early adopters of LTE, we know that battery life will be questionable (hopefully) until the arrival of the new LTE radios. To remove the only way the end user can really address that issue and still fully enjoy LTE, all for the purpose of being a few mm thinner, seems foolish. As you point out, this certainly does seem to give up one of the major advantages that phone will have over Apple.

As far as Sense goes, I will not get a new phone without it, that is unless and until another UI appears that does what Sense does, only better.
