Yeah that started floating around yesterday. At this point Im not sweating the difference between DL30 and EB01. The radio would be nice and kernel source even nicer IMO.Just saw this on Phone Arena

After this whole Froyo debacle, I'm weary of another Samsung....but at the same time I love this phone. I'd love to get it with it's Orion processor if it comes with 2.3 as speculated.Agreed. The OTA is long overdue for the non-rooted to enjoy Froyo. I also concur on SGS2. Definitely eyeing that baby. If the hardware is right much like with the SF, it will be a contender for me. For better a worse I do buy for hardware more than software as software can be tweaked and tinkered with and there are always dev's to take it to the next level. But the hardware is more or less frozen and stuck. Yes there is OC and minor stuff like that, but really it is what it is.
As for DL09...I am hating some of the problems I'm having with the phone. Actually tried to exchange my phone for one with previous software, but that didn't work out so well. So...I'm dealing with the Swype bugs and such. :-(
Ohhhh here we go again Samsung. Give us a 2 weeks notice and then let us down again. PLEASE, I just can't wait. Ohhhh wait, I don't have to. We ALREADY have Froyo.
^^^thisbelieve me, we want the ota. If theres no ota, theres no 2.2 source for us. If theres no source theres no overclock, undervolt and aosp doesnt get as much help as is possible otherwise.
So while, yes we have froyo....its development growth is stunted

Then why did you buy it? You did not buy hardware, you bought a device built by Samsung with software they felt appealed to the greater public. Hackers, crackers, those with higher expectations of anything they buy, and one post trolls, always bash the OEM attempts. If you didn't like it, you shouldn't have bought it.
To top it off, you are complaining about working with a Mac. Another niche.
Go get an iPhone, it will plug right into your Mac.
That won't happen. Honestly, my SF is my only phone. I have no landline. I also need my phone to be fully functional. I have a small business Im involved with and all my clients have my SF number so believe me when I say I need my SF running 100% at all times. The work the dev's have put into this whole process is tremendous. I know some people sometimes have mini borks but speaking very humbly thats almost always operator error. Rooting, getting clockwork on and a nice superclean rom is very easy as long as you do it properly. jt1134, adrynalyne and the brain trust have made everything virtually fool proof and trouble free.
As always there is always the chance for something to go wrong but dont fret too much. There are far too many of us who are rooting and running 2.2 trouble free for this just to be a crapshoot. Having said that its still a personal choice and if anyone is intimidating by the process they can and should probably wait
If only for the "Chase me down" feature. And, Visual Voice Mail (If that's your thing).I bought a terminal device, that connects to a CDMA network, and runs Android.
I picked this one out because of hardware specs, and physical layout of the phone.
The Stock TouchWiz looks nice, however, I prefer a stock Android experience. And, I prefer not being told what I MUST have on my hardware I purchased.
You should start handing out your Google Voice numberIf only for the "Chase me down" feature. And, Visual Voice Mail (If that's your thing).
Rumorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
everything is a rumor...the op never said it was a fact
I know this! I'm just reinstating the fact that the rumor is in fact a rumor and not a facted rumor thereby stating it is not a fact but in fact just a rumor.
Don't get too comfy with Google Voice if your not willing to pay for it, Google is now touting Voice as "free until the end of 2011."You're so right about Google voice. I have a magic jack, but they don't have local numbers for my area, which is surprising and a shame at the same time - huge potential market here. Anyways, Google voice gives folks a local number they can call that goes right to my Magic Jack. I don't use it on my cellphones because they are local numbers.
