Radio is here EB01 that is, you know where to go to find it. They ask for no forum links yet so we respect that for now ;)
 
Yeppers EB01 is out and about no sense me posting a screenie since mine looks like suxors except for the battery
 
suxor needs the AOSP screen lock + accurate battery mod loaded.....and it removes the damn location icon as well which is nice :)

so far so good with the voodoo....13.54 Linpack, 1564 Quadrant

Decent point there. No one knows when the real OTA drops however, the fact that the devs were allowed to release the rom and radio today to me suggests its out for mass testing with VZW and this suggests an OTA is likely just weeks away.
 
I directly contacted the samsung customer service in korea. At least they answered me back, but still they don't say exactly when so it doesn't really help. Here's the email I got and translation anyway.

So-when we get 2.2 will we have to reinstall all of our apps, email settings etc... or will that be saved and the system just updated?
 
I'm not saying that this IS going to happen. But we are getting OTA 2.2 Feb 22nd. Just a thought that I heard from a little person who I don't actually know :rolleyes:

idk, im pretty content for the moment. In the last 3 weeks we've gotten random not named froyo, dl30, eb01, eb01 radio, voodoo, aosp with .32, aosp with .32 voodoo, a bunch of mods/themes and at some point 2.2 source for custom kernels

gingerbread when it comes will be nice, til then im satisfied (kinda)
 
Agreed, there is a difference between good and good enough. Honestly we might never feel anything is good enough as we'll always want more, such is nature. But we should be content and realize what we do have is good. Not sure what else we could ask for really. Actually thats not true. But certainly I do appreciate where we are now
 
Well, I successfully got the new EB01 Froyo going on my wife's new fascinate I got her for Valentine's day. WOW is it running great.

Tried to put it on my Fascinate and now I'm in force close hell. Can't seem to do anything to resurrect my phone. It is usable with only intermittent force closes if I go back to stock through Odin, but no amount of futzing around will get me stable in Froyo on my Fascinate. You know, it's all because I decided to follow the directions ...

Let me explain:

Me, being my daring self, followed only the parts of the main thread here that I thought were important:

[EB01 WALKTHROUGHS] Rooting, Clockwork, Voodoo, Stock and Custom ROM, Battery, etc - xda-developers

I actually booted into Froyo without a hitch or a single force close. I didn't redo the kernals or upgrade my CWM. But while using my phone, I decided it couldn't hurt, so I went ahead and did it. It successfully replaced my green CWM with the red one. Then my phone went to hell.

In the Samsung recovery utils I get the following message every time, regardless of kernal or CWM version installed:

E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1

Any ideas? If I go back to the green and do this froyo leak, are my chances better? Or can I even do that??? Also, my wife's has the red CWM on it and hers runs just wonderfully. Boy is it a perfect phone, and I'm excited as crazy that she'll be happy with it.

But my phone is pissing me off something fierce!

Anyways, looks as if the EB01 Froyo leak is going to work GREAT on both my wife's new Fascinate and mine. Just took a lot more work on mine. Methinks it was because of the Voodoo kernels.

After using the new EB01 leak with the recently updated ADW.Launcher (now superior in several ways to Launcher Pro Plus, in addition to being free...), I have come to one conclusion:

This Froyo build, even without a superclean ROM, is FAST.

Not just fast, but HOLY CRAP BATMAN fast. This is truly the Froyo we've all been waiting for. Haven't tested absolutely everything yet, but so far what I have used works GREAT. Testing now on two Fascinates. But I'm getting tired and need some sleep.. Whew. This phone never ceases to amaze me, and now with Froyo, even more so.
