What's stopping you from rooting and putting EB01 on there?

that there was a new froyo leak...its actually not technically for the fascinate...but the mesmorize or showcase
Every time I think about rooting, I take a trip over to the root forum and see "well I flashed the radio, kernel, EO$^^&U(%#$572084, voodoo doll, thru odin....

Actually it's pretty easy to root and get going.
Here's a great step by step how to from XDA:

The biggest thing to avoid as a noobie is voodoo. Unless you understand what it is and how to use it properly don't use it. Otherwise it's almost impossible to bork up your phone, there's always a way to recover.

I'm afraid I'll do something wrong. Since I'm lacking in the paycheck area, I can't just go out and buy a new phone if I screw this one up.
I'm generally happy with my phone, but there are a few features of 2.2 that I want, and I really want my SWYPE to start working normally again....not that froyo is going to fix that, but I can hope.
Apps to SD card, media player(you know what I mean), faster ( not that my SF is slow but faster=better), also the SF should have been released with 2.2 (IMO)
the EB01 ROM has a new version of the swype app that's really really nice! I tried to pull it out of the EB01 ROM to run on my DL09 build that I'm using right now but the phone didn't like that very much, went into endless boot loop.

It should have been updated by now, that's for sure! I'm looking forward to using Adobe Flash. It's kept me from a few sites I'd like to use on my phone....one of them being Southparkstudios.com! LOL I use my phone on the treadmill and stuff, so I'm always watching things. It would be nice to add South Park to that list without having to actually add it to my SD card. Also, just downloaded Words with Friends (just released last week or so) so I can play with my bf's sister. She had begged him to install it on his iPhone so she could play with me. LOL It's kinda slowing my phone down, I think. But I don't have the heart to uninstall. Can I do that without rooting? I'm a n00bie at this (did I spell that right???). I'm just too chicken to root, although it has crossed my mind.
you'd have to root to install swype beta, sorry. Rooting is really easy, check the post I linked a few posts up.
blue, yes, the epic got their froyo release, my buddy just downloaded it the other day.

I posted an article yesterday. Yes, some got it, however, there were some problems pertaining to the SD card, and they pulled the update.

Try Skyfire for wacthin online Vids its free and has good streaming quality. lol this is whts keeping me from taking a risk and rooting since im new as well.It should have been updated by now, that's for sure! I know this is the thread for the Fascinate and Froyo, but I thought I'd post this for those who, in this thread, keep speculating or hoping that we get Gingerbread (whether we skip Froyo or not). I apologize if posting this is wasting the time of those of you only interested in Froyo.
