[Official] Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-release thread - Sprint official launch is Saturday, June 2

I just got a call from April, the mobil manager at my local BB, and she informed me that my LTEvo is ready for pickup, right now. If I wasn't stuck in West Virginia working I'd be on my way to get it 10 minutes ago!!:p

I just wanted to spread the word that BB is making these available as soon as the store has em!! Hopefully this news will make a few smiles today!. :)

im letting the battery charge before i even turn it on. since its not removable i want to condition it as much as i can. i read to let it charge for 5 hours when u first get the phone even if the light turns green. its killing me not to turn it on but it will be better for the battery in the long run :)

and i dont know what all the talk about it being ugly or bad to hold was. she is perfect!
 
I'm happy to hear that many of you have received notice from Best Buy that your pre-ordered phone has arrived. No such luck for me, I'm afraid. I can't even get anyone to answer the phone at the store in Raleigh where I pre-ordered my phone. I have spoken with a very nice young lady in the Cary, NC store who checked the system and reported that all the stores in the district (Raleigh, NC area) showed that they had received their pre-orders EXCEPT the Raleigh store #0299 where my phone is destined to arrive. She said that the status no longer showed the phones were in transit, so maybe they are being delivered now, or will be delivered later today. I have a feeling that any future Best Buy transactions after I take delivery of my LTEvo will be at the Cary store where they still know how to provide good customer service.

I liven in Apex for a while, when I helped build the newest section of I540, I loved Raleigh!!:)

Also remember Cary stands for: Confinement Area (for) Relocating Yankies!! ;):p

I think if the Cary store has em, your store will get them by this evening. Keep the faith my man, yours will be next!! :)
 
Hehe funny, I've been patient this whole time since the "delay". Now that people actually have it...I want mine now. Only problem for me is that I pre-ordered at BB in-store so I have to wait for an email. Tried calling earlier but all lines busy.

Once I get my phone...would it be better to transfer data from there or go to a Sprint store?
 
I just pre-ordered at BB about 30 minutes ago, and as soon as I get back home I get an email telling me to come back in because it's ready.

I think i'll wait until tomorrow ..

nope I'm out the door!

(BTW when I pre-ordered, they told me they didn't have extras and that I might have to wait until next week to get it)

BB has this "big box" tool that I always end up helping people out of.

First thing, check your contacts are in the Google cloud via your Gmail account - ditto for your calendar items.

Next - back up your existing sd card to a pc.

Next - either consider MyBackup Pro (pretty good stuff, paid app) or try out EStrongs File Explorer for a free apps backup.

The thing you want to avoid is that most xfer methods end up putting your contacts on the sd card. And then you get them from Google. And then you get duplicates - and then you get headaches.

Try my steps above. ;) :)

Ugh! Still no email from BB. Called this morning and the rep said he didn't know anything about them getting shipped. He started saying "There was a suit by Apple and..." I cut him off and told him I knew they were being held at customs, but that they had been released and shipped to Sprint customers via UPS. He thought they were still being held and had no idea about shipping or the memo that was leaked.:mad:
 
Oh Snap! :eek: BB just gave me "The Call":) OTW to p/u LTEVO now, 1pm Portland, OR. ;) 2pm LTEVO will be back @ house :D I already posted a thanks for the memory"s on this pre-launch thread. Face it, this one was epic w/Apple/customs thing. Then again when has EVO phone launch not been epic :eek: Now, after 2yrs time to put my OG EVO down back in the original microwaveable lunch carton :) and say L8TR! For me this thread fades to black, curtains draw to close :p . Curtins begins to rise on the next adventure "LTEVO" :D
