[Official] What Changes Have You Noticed After Updating to 2.2 (Froyo)?

For anyone that uses widgetlocker, now whenever the volume button is locked on the lockscreen it no longer changes the media volume when you don't want it to :D

I love the froyo features, flash is awesome, and got a 2212 in Quadrant. However, I absolutely despise how they removed the ability to disable the swipe to unlock. I loved that feature. Also, I'm not a fan of most of the changes to the camera interface. The shutter icon is great, but now you have to tap the screen to open the camera controls menu, and each of those open a new menu. For instance, to change the flash mode, you have to tap the screen, tap the flash icon, tap the flash mode you want. Changing flash mode could be done with one click before. Also, the on-screen elements don't rotate when you rotate the phone, which is part of the Droid's froyo camera functionality, as well as stock froyo. Overall, kind of disappointed by Motorola's effort on this. I seriously doubt this will be the OTA.

The universal search button for me no longer looks through my contacts, and the universal google search bar is totally broken. When I use it once, it locks to the top of my screen and accepts no input and glitches that entire homescreen. Had to restart to remove it.

Edit: I take back the first problem. Contact search was under settings.
It will search for contacts after you change the settings. But when you tap the contact, it crashes out, and takes you back to the search. First bug I have found.

Anyone else having wifi problems?
I connected at home with no problem with 2.1. Installed 2.2 at work, and when I came home I can't get the wifi to connect at all. I don't even get the wifi icon at the top like I used to.

Actually works better now for me. Wifi didnt auto connect on 2.1. Now it seems to be working perfectly.

is everyone here talking about the leaked update or the actual Verizon update that's pushed? I'm just curious as I"m not updated yet....

Good information...thank you everyone. I'm still a bit jittery from rooting the DX....don't think I can handle this 'unofficial' froyo update.

I'm new to Android (DX is the first), and I am def not an IT geek (know just barely enough to do harm).

I think I'll wait it out for the official OTA....while still learning all that Android has to offer (BB ship jumper).

So essentially I have nothing useful to say - except a zillion thank you's to all of you who listen, post, answer, crack, and hack. I've learned a lot with so much more to go.

After the update, my Handcent messages are way off on their time stamps. My received messages are like 7 hours behind the real time.

Anybody else have this issue?

My text messages dont sort like they used to...they are just staying in the same place...anyone else having this issue?

I dont know if its from wiping data, cache or Froyo....but my phone would lag when scrolling thru Running Services. It doesnt anymore.

I got hit with the dead pixel bug in the camera recently, its gone now.

Moto Torch also got broke in Froyo on the Droid when Froyo first leaked. U need to find an older version of Moto Torch.

I dont know if it was recommended or not, but those of us on the Droid had to wipe data, cache when going from 2.1 to 2.2 I see EVO owners have that issue too. Anyway, I wiped data and cache b4 installing Froyo. Yea I had to get all my stuff again since I dont use back up apps, but I think its worth it to try to get as clean of an install as possible.

when my phone hits low power, instead of the standard beep beep tone, it's some loud disfigured umm.. well i cant really describe it but its not a good sounding sound. anyone else?

I got a different notification too, thought my phone was breaking, haha.

- how's the rebooting issue (some folks have x's that spontaneously reboot for no apparent reason)

- how's the gps? any flakiness?

I used to have a random reboot once every 3 or 4 hours after the froyo update I haven't had one yet and I updated almost 12 hours ago so I'm hoping it stays that way
