[Official] What Changes Have You Noticed After Updating to 2.2 (Froyo)?

I used the build file in the hacks forum that fixes the market issue, but I didn't alter it.

I actually have no idea what you mean. If that build.prop file helps with quadrant, then I'd have no idea how it does.ki

I am thinking that must have the Droid 2 image and the stagefright lines alteration included because I haven't seen a score in the 2k range without the stagefright lines being changed from false to true.

Do me a favor, record a quick HD video with your camera and try to play it back immediately. Does it work?
 
Never saw anyone talk about this being a bug before, but it looks fixed for me.

Previously when typing from posts and I had to go back and correct something, I'd place the cursor at a spot, but I'd find it would jump around to other words and other lines even and sometimes I could never get it in the right position.

No such issue on froyo.
 
Now when you try to scroll through a text you just wrote, like before you send it, it doesn't really let you. it annoys me

also i deleted handcent because the timestamp thing was pissing me off

Thanks, I guess I'll try reinstalling.
It just force closes every time I open it. As a side note, navigation app works fine.
 
I have found problems with the camera. I took two pictures and they showed up in the gallery as grey icons which couldn't be opened. I tried uploading them to Picasa and it said they were corrupted.

I tried bringing the camera up again and the screen flickered as if it were opening an app but went right back to the home screen. i rebooted the phone and opening failed three times but finally started on the fourth attempt. I took another picture and it was fine. I went back to the gallery and the original two bad images were gone. The new image was in its place.
 
Here are some hiccups I've noticed with the 2.2 update....

1) Obviously mentioned before, the text notifications have the wrong time when checking the notifications tab.

2) When you go into gallery and pick all photos the date comes up as November 2009 at the top as a fade, in fade out date

3) If you go to My Accounts and click on your gmail account, you can not individually sync contacts, gmail or calendar. You have to click menu and click sync now which sync everything.

4) Battery Manager does work, but at times you cannot open it up and it says its been forced closed.

5) Maybe it's me, but the weather widget seems to show the city next to me rather then in the city I'm in. Not a big deal, but not sure why it would be doing that.

6) Mentioned before, but the background does seem to jump when going through the seven screens.

These are the things I've noticed. I'm sure there are more, but so far these are the only ones I have seen.

Just wanted to say that I had that grey icon thing happen a time or two with 2.1 as well, so probably not a Froyo problem, but rather a random Motorola problem...
 
I put froyo on my Droid X last night and I thought it was a lil louder with the ringtones, music, notifications, etc..


I thought it was all in my head though, I was wondering if any one noticed any difference in the volume being louder with 2.2



What do you guys think? Better, worse or the same?
 
no, compared to my original Droid it still is very low..to me it sounds exactly the same, if its louder its not much....speaker phone is still useless unless the place is drop dead silent. The ringer I still cant hear unless the place is quite...my Droid I never had a problem...and i am not some deaf old fart lol

I'm in the same boat as you dude.. I had the first Droid and it was the loudest cleanest phone speaker I've ever heard on a cell phone. But ya I guess it did get a lil louder now that I actually pay attention to it.
 
I'm not saying this phone has the best speaker I've ever witnessed...but it's loud enough for me, personally. But I do have really good hearing lol Not that you guys/gals don't! :)
 
Found the first serious bugs(for me anyway.) First is when you scroll down a contacts info, the screen will jump back up to the top of the information. It will not let you look at the info on the bottom part of the screen. Also, it seems that the speed dial is broken. You cannot assign anyone to a speed dial number. It just crashes out. Also, if you assign contacts to the search button, it will bring up the contact. But, when you tap the contact, it will crash out and take you back to the search screen. It will work properly from within contacts, but not anywhere else.

Well, speed dial can't be setup if you search for the contact by typing the name. However, if you scroll and select it, it will work. And the can't scroll to the bottom of a contact is working now, after a restart. Release not ready for primetime. Buggy, especially around the contact area.

Exactly, the original Droid the speaker was loud! and i got use to it.....I have a mustang with pipes and my original droid I could hear it ringing without a problem, the X unless i am looking at the phone I dont know i am being called/text.....its crazy how the original would have such an awesome speaker and the X and 2 have crappy ones.

I guess it is what it is until we get another update..

I don't like the lower volume either but I can deal with it I guess
