Root Ok I officially need help

Ok I officially need help, I ran the ota 3.70 then tried to run unrevoked 3.3 it said something like unsuccessful is your firmware to new. When I rebooted phone it won
 
I have done that sevral times also I cant get to the card through the phone I tried to put a pc36img on the card from a card reader then put the card back in phone but thats not working either boot screen says s-off hboot-2.10.0001 if that helps
 
OK I am ready to root. What are all the items that I need in the process?

Do I need a card reader and another sd card or a computer to download to?

Also I like the way my phone screens are set up. After rooting do I just download them back to the phone and it will set back up......Or do I need to download someone else's ROM layout.
 
Considering what we've read about bricking phones I think some of us just don't want to f-up our phones. But more to the point, what concern of yours is it. I for one don't find angry birds appealing and dont visit those threads.

BTW the problem is that there is no from specific from initial to end steps write up. That's why there are problems.
 
As my signature states, we were all novices at one point. Hence why there are no such thing as dumb questions. Each time we ask, we gain more intellect, therefor we grow. If you can't answer a question, or are unable to refrain from making an unnecessary comment; then let someone else who can. I don't want anyone scaring members off the forums because of plain ignorance. That said..

Simmer down.

Mr. ED, I was able to boot in to hboot by vol down and power but the only function I could use at that point was hboot usb and even though the device manager would recognize the phone the computer never did, I think it was in charge only mode and usb debugging off when this all happened.

I was able to put the pc36img on the card through a reader and when I put it back into the phone the phone read it as normal but after the read/write the phone rebooted back into the loop. As of now the battery it dead and the phone won

I had this also, as did many people when they rooted. I just waited about 5 minutes and it restarted just fine. Did you wait a while so it can restart?
 
we are dealing with normal members of society...you are going to get all makes and models. if you don't have the patience with them move on to a different thread but repeated posts poking fun, calling names etc are even less productive than the baby hand holding posts.

matlock is a site guide and asked everyone to simmer down...the next step would most likely be a moderator saying something.

no one wants you leave, but try and stay positive. If you can't do that (and trust me...I hit a number of threads lately that I CAN"T ..move on to another thread)

there are a slew of people making this MUCH harder than it really is. Rooting literally took me 5 mins

smegma...if you haven't figured it out already..you are going to need to find an external battery charger and charge your battery fully, then power up and see what happens.

Mr Ed, Im in the process of doing that now, Thank you I will post back with the out come. Hopefully it will be positive after all who needs a door stop in January in the midwest.

Ok I found a recovery.zip file at xda that I renamed pc36img put it on the card and managed to get enough juice in the battery, for it to read and it finally booted up. then I ran the official htc pc36img.exe ver3.29 which unrooted it and put it back to stock. Then I did the ota update and rerooted with unrevoted 3.31 did a nand restore and it seems to be ok. That was very scary!!!
