Root Open rom test

if that file didn't work, which I suspect it didn't, I can try again. Also, ktb is a boss at this stuff and his system pull will probably be accurate.

Dang, I go to bed and we have no rom and wake up to a working rom with just a few bugs. Things are happening fast on here...

Great job

Last one till tomorrow night.
Goo.im Downloads - Downloading Harmonia_2.13bv5_Elite.zip

Let me know what works, what doesn't and what apps need to be updated.
This is all ZV5, fully deodexed (unlike before where a few failed to deodex), and with luck should work and be just about ready. However, being a fresh start, there could still be issues.

Running the latest build and it boots up just fine,

Prompts to install MYID Esssentials pack right away,

It is showing version zv5 in status and got no prompt to update,

Wifi still not connecting properly and just hangs at obtaining ip address, setting static address causes it to connect but don't have connectivity to internet

Everything else appears to be fine.. Gonna leave it on for a while and see how it runs

Edit..

Notice that 3g does not come back up after turning wifi on and back off. Had to reboot to bring 3g back up

Not rooted, No su binary or superuser app

Wow, is this the first attempt at a ROM for the Elite? Great work so far, and holy heck did you get all this done fast. Make a donations page in the 1st post!

Almost looks like a daily driver if you don't need WiFi

Apps which offered updates immediately after installing:

Google Wallet
Google Play Movies & TV

Here are the APKs:

removed

Data seems more reliable and fast for whatever reason (perhaps unrelated to Harmonia)

ADB is not working
Wifi is not working(, but you know)

Just realized this is going on over here. Great work Leslie and all participants. Thankyou for all the amazing effort! :-)

I have not tested Harmonia yet, but I'm curious. You said the ROM was stripped of bloat, but there are still some apps (ktb mentioned them, Wallet and Play Movies & TV) that request to be updated a la the play store. Is that a weird bloat thing where it prompts you to update them, even though you don't have them, to get them to be installed?

Hopefully that made sense.

Try adding this line to the updater-script to fix root:

set_perm(0, 0, 06755, "/system/bin/su");

Others can flash this ZIP in CWM and it will do it for you: link coming...

Not sure what is with wifi at this point, but I will take a look later tonight. I have a theory, just not sure why it is causing it, if it is.

ADB could be due to the perm issue.

Good catch on the installer permission. It's a lot of code, and there is a lot of room for mistakes.

On the other hand, we are VERY close to a fully working rom.

This is still beta and I am still purging it of things.

Can somebody check if the directory "/data/misc" exists? The bluetooth and wifi stuff needs subdirectories in that folder. If that directory doesnt exist, you can try creating it and see if wifi start sworking when you reboot the phone.

Another (small) thing I see is that all the "toolbox" programs are separate copies of the same file. On the real phone, you have like 60 programs that are all symlinked to the toolbox program. In your zip, you have a 79.6KiB file for each one of those 60ish programs.

I dont have this on the stock ROM..

If that is the case, then the issue is in the boot.img

New test!
Here is an odexed version to see if the deodexing is an issue. I also found another error in the installer that was messing with SU. Also gone is mobile ID, so let me know if it shows up anywhere.

I may try this one if everything is working correctly. Ill wait until tomorrow though.
Edit: yeah i have /data/misc.... I was looking with astro file mngr instead of root explorer lol

No luck with the wifi yet, it still just sits on obtaining IP address. MobileID is gone. But SuperSU doesn't work.

I don't think the directories in /data are the problem. As a test, I restored just my data partition from a stock backup after installing harmonia. The same problems exist.

I have been playing with symlinks for busybox and toolbox. It hasn't helped yet. I can't say whether or not the placement and symlinks are correct, but those programs in /system/bin that are all the same file is exactly how stock is.

And we do know for certain that this is an issue with Harmonia, not with the ROM flashing process of CWM?

Leslie: Try starting with Stock, and working down to current-build Harmonia, five changes per build release for testing. See which set of changes breaks Wifi along the way down to where Harmonia is now. From there, you can narrow it further.
