Help Optical track pad question

Sometimes I feel as if my optical track pad moves and responds too slowly. Does anyone know if there's a way to adjust track pad movement?

I use the trackpad to edit documents and the darn thing moves so slowly.

Works fine for me, and I do my homework on this thing sometimes.

It works fine for me too, but I want to be able to move farther with a single swype. Maybe a hardware thing.
