Root Optimus M+ Root Guide

There appears to be a problem with the link. When I click on it, I'm taken to an LG Web page for the original I'm, and nothing about the USB drivers. I searched around and can't find them on lg's site (for the MS695).

Hmm, I'll have to PM Andy that the link isn't working and give him the one that does work.

okay so i did everything you said and it only says "waiting for device..." ; could you tell me what im doing wrong?? heelpppppD;

Did it and this time I remembered to make sure that I had mass storage selected. It worked this time.

Hermm...

How long should it be at "daemon started successfully"? Been about 10 minutes and noticing nothing happening. Debug enabled, drivers up to date, running "run.bat" as admin on PC, etc.

scratch that, debugging only looked to be checked off while greyed out. thanks again to those of you helping out on these forums though :D

ive done everything and a clicked run and it started but it stopped on waiting for device ? any help ?:(

Have you got the phone in mass storage mode? I first tried to do this when it was in internet mode and that was the results. When you plug in your phone to the computer, and it asks you if you want to be in internet or mass storage mode, select mass storage.

I did everything step by step. I have the necessary drivers. i double click run bat and nothing happens to my my phone. what the dealio?

Ok, I tried it again this evening and got the same results, although this time it got into a boot loop. I did think to get a screen shot of the dos prompt. :D

Notice that it mentions more than one device/emulator. This is the only phone I have plugged in. If anyone has any ideas that'd be great and helpfull.

I went into device manager and disabled the modem stuff. I dissabled the ADM stuff too. What am I supposed to do???!! H-E-L-P

So, try this out: shut down your computer and restart so you have a clean slate. When it's up and running, plug in the phone. You need to make sure that the phone is in mass storage mode and NOT in internet mode. As far as ADB, if it's not in the path, then you will get the error you indicate about unrecognized command. Just navigate the command line till you get to the dir that contains the *.exe you want to run. That will prevent the internal/external command error you were getting.

its dosnt work for me idk y it gust stays stuck in deamon started successfully am i spos to do somthing els or might i be do somthing wrong pls help

Hi everyone. After much heart ache, I believe I was finally able to get my phone rooted. I have the LG Optimus M 2.2.1, which was purchased like 2 years, so the previous Ginger Break method worked for me, but then I accidentally deleted, LG Home.apk, and then performed a hard reset, so I lost complete access to everything. After updating the drivers on my pc and updating the phone completely from the LG website, I was able to get it working again, but then the Ginger Break method no longer worked. I then found this thread and used the optimusmplus_root_windows method and everything seems to have worked out fine. The problem I have now, is I'm trying to use Root Explorer, but it's not prompting me to give it Super User Access. I want to be able move apps from the phones internal memory to the SD Card, but I'm unable to do so, without Super User permission. Once again, I used the optimusmplus_root_windows.zip, and once it was completed, the phone seems to be rooted,.I have Root Explorer installed, but when I try to move a file, I can't because I need to set it to RW instead of RO and it won't let me change the read-write method without SU permissions. Any ideas on how to do this? And how do I know if my phone is been fully rooted? Thanks in advance.

okay i really need help! its not working at all

Well, what have you done? If you read and do exactly as stated, it will work. You do need to be in mass storage mode though; I tried it twice in internet mode and it didn't work.

I keep trying this, but every single time it simply gets stuck at the "waiting for device" part...I've followed all the instructions perfectly, so do y'all have any idea what might be wrong? Thanks!

They are the same phones. You can use the as695 drivers.

i've followed all steps, the phone reboots 3 times, but then it doesn't seem any different? it says "link failed file exists" in the middle of the commands.. but it finishes. i'm trying to fix my sisters phone because the date and time are completely messed up and you can't change them manually for some idiotic reason. help!
