Great deal if you're willing to stand in line for hours both getting in and then checking out. Be nice to have a brand new back-up.

Hm, looks like a good time to upgrade from my Loft.

Sucks that it's a midnight open. I wonder if showing up at 11PM will be early enough to snag one of these.

2 questions...

Can you buy this a few days before Black Friday and than bring your receipt in for reimbursement? I know Best Buy will do that for customers if they have a sale after you already buy something. I cant find any info on Target though.

What is the symbol on the photo of the screen?...On the bottom of my home screen my phone has a picture of the earth, and in the picture it looks like a circular arrow (back key) maybe. I have noticed my back key (the actual physical key) has been slightly depressed from using it too much. It would be nice to see a back button on the touch screen.. I know it's just a stock photo but who knows.

Yeah, and price matching in general seems to be a gray area anyhow. Radio Shack wouldn't match Amazon.com's price on the OV for me back in September.

How hard do you think it'll be to get this....honestly?

It looks pretty impossible for me to get it. SIGH.
Will it be available online? What about Cyber Monday?

Have you ever participated in a Black Friday sale? They'll probably have maybe 5 at this price, but 2 is going to be more like it.

Well since this is a Black Friday deal, I have no clue about Cyber Monday. I don't do the whole crismas thing and generally tend to avoid both days.

You could just buy a lottery ticket and stay home on black Friday. The odds are about the same. And youll save yourself alot of agravation.

I'm sure that most people that might manage to be ahead of you in the line probably are not thinking about running in and snagging up an Optimus V. The only ones that really know the tru potential of these phones are us. So even if there are a couple of people ahead of you in said line you'll probably have no problem getting one. If you wait to late to get in line, your chances get mighty slim.

I used to manage the electronics department at a Target and you'd be surprised what people will buy on Black Friday. Anything under $50 will sell out immediately regardless of what it is. I think some people buy things just to resell them. Many years ago we had 144 of a 5 CD changer boombox for $50 (when most of them were $100+) but we had nowhere to put that many in electronics so they were stacked up in the seasonal department. I had to stand on the display counter yelling "THE CD CHANGER ISN'T HERE, IT'S IN SEASONAL" and they were all sold within half an hour.

Oh, and how many of a given item a store gets is based mostly on the grade of a store. If it's a good store in a well-off area with high volume sales then they'll get lots of phones. A crappy store in a bad area with lots of theft and/or poor sales will get very few phones; I could well imagine one of those stores only getting two or three phones. If at all possible you're much better off going to the nicest Target in the area. In my experience just as many people camp out at the bad ones and it ends up not being worth it.

Oh brother...people really need to get a life if they can waste all that time sitting in front of a store in the dead of night just to save (or hope to save) a few bucks.

With the way things are today, being a single parent of two teens I can most definitely see standing in line for a few hours to save a few bucks. But then again, I'm more concerned with myself than with what others are doing with their own time.

Well I hope you're able to get one then, but like someone else said, you'd have better chances with a lottery ticket then snagging one of these limited availability black Friday deals.

That's the awesome thing though. I don't have to lol. I already have an awesome phone...

LG Optimus V, dripping with a juicy portion of ClockWorkMod, and topped with the ever so tasty CyanogenMod 7 BACKside IHO by Jerryscript..... mmmm. These are the things wet dreams are made of. ;)

Best Buy will price match while the sale is on-going. As such, as long as you can walk into target and get the phone for $49.99, you can do the same at best buy.

Just picked up two of them for my kids and didn't have to wait in line. Got there as the line was going in.

Also checked out at the jewelry counter. In and out in 15 minutes. I need a lotto ticket.

I told my friend (who was going to Target to buy a TV) if they had any to buy them for me and I would pay him back. When he was there they had five still so he picked up three for me. :)
