Hi, I have an old optimism m laying around after I got my new lg esteem(which is running a custom ROM someone made for me:) it's ridiculously fast) and I wanted to try my hand at installing something else on it like Ubuntu, palm OS or windows mobile. I am not talking about running it with Android but erasing Android all together and having a stand alone OS running. Any help would be appreciated

A few links :p

The V and S links sound promising, I'm not sure what the GT540 is...

GT450 is a slightly older funky looking version of the Optimus they even have a few working ICS cm9 ports.

That's a GSM phone LG Optimus specs
It also seems to be a very bad phone (all cons and no pros to it in the specs), I'm wondering why it has ICS working better than our phone.....

How similar is this phone to the Optimus M..I wonder, we still need a boot.img for ICS...IF the screens are the same and they got the touchscreen working on that phone, then it would work on our phone.

Edit: Tried it, didn't work :(

i got ubuntu to work, but apt-get update didnt quite work. also, couldnt figure out how to make VNC viewer work, so no gui, but through terminal got android@local_host to at least start:/

look in my posts n c da relevant topics, gimme a min2gather links, no comp only on my dx
