Root [[OUTDATED THREAD]] NEW BOOTANI...NO MORE HELLO HELLO HELLO!!!!! Links fixed

THIS THREAD IS NOW OUTDATED....STILL USEABLE TO REPLACE FIRST PART OF BOOTANIMATION.......BUT.....ITS NOW POSSIBLE TO CHANGE TO A WHOLE NEW ANIMATION....NO METRO.... :)


it is possible to change bootanimations..I'm still fiddling with it but no more hello hello hello....hell no!! after I try this new file I will post my results.

stay tuned same admire time....same admire channel

then let's change it....download this file and place it in system/media..but make sure you rename the original to bootani.qmgbak. change owner and group to root.
change permissions to match the original bootani.qmg
reboot and metro is gone....replaced with a nice new Samsung logo...the bootanimation is next..
the one I loaded isn't working right...you can see the animation but it's the wrong configuration.....I'll get it though.sit tight

Ya it possible but the way that metro has made it the boot animation are images instead of a short clip, soon someone will figer out how to change it
 
maybe mystery or shabby will grace my thread with their presence and verify it works.... has anyone besides me done this???

As far as replacing it, I'm not sure but if you want to remove the 'Hello, Hello, Hello'
1. Go into the system/etc folder
2. Move poweron.wav to your SD Card
And you're all set

Nice work so next step would be to upload some new boot animations on here so we can see what people have done. I know some have lag and I want one that looks clean and has some flow to it.
 
As far as I know, It's just a zipped bunch of images. I am planning on doing something amazing for this in a few minutes tho. Hold on and I will see what I can do.
 
it's not that easy....the boot animation zip isnt what's making it happen...it's the samsungani that's the problem
 
what if we took the drrooooood sound in mp3 and converted it to wav and renamed it like you did with the anama and replaced it???
 
i did this same thing ny taking the bootani.qmg file from the 2.3.6 update. i also took the system/media/video/shutdown folder and the poweron.wav and shutdown.ogg files. all of the files can be changed. these are the directories and files needed to change what you want to change:

/system/media/bootani.qmg
/system/media/samsungani.qmg

/system/media/video/shutdown
all shutdown.png files

/system/media/audio/ui/shutdown.ogg

/etc/poweron.wav


hope this helps. as for the files i dont know how to upload files but i can pm or email or otherwise send them if someone wants to post a link...
 
Confirming here it works. Nice find. The Samsung Transforms system is just like ours and when it comes to theming its basically the same. I have a friend who currently has some awesome themes for the Transform and is willing to work on the admire. All he needs is a clean Stock deodexed Rom ...
 
Just Found Out How To change The ShutDown Animation and got a Lot of animations and sound for you guys. Omg im going to make a tread for it:eek:
