Root Overclocking Ally

Been running at 787 all day. My arm6 is revision 5, don't know if all allys are same revision. Temp has dropped significantly as well, down to low 80s F. Set to oc at boot, I'm comfortable with the near 200 mhz performance increase thanks to drellisdee : D

Mine is a rev 5 and I can't go a mint at 787

I have also been running the highest all day with no issues, I have a Arm Cortex A11 and its been hasnt gone over 80f

once i put this in my sd card where do i go from there

Unzip the file you got, read the readme, move the zip you find inside to sd card, flash zip with recover.

Do not wipe data/cache/dalvik

You will need the setcpu app from the readme to oc

can i use clockworkmod recovery to flash this
yes, rename the file update.zip (without the .zip part), move into the root of the sd card, reboot into clockwork mod recovery, go to update, select the file, taadaa : )

I don't know why some people are having such a hard time with this, mine has been running constantly without a hiccup. drellisdee, are you going to post your kernel with updated tables? if not I can probably do it myself... I understand, I wouldn't want to feel responsible for bricking somebody's phone, but I don't think a 20 Mhz difference will do all that much bad. If anything I just want to see if I did get a decent cpu in here.

Been running at 787 for a little over an hour. since i flashed the new rom, iv been having connection problems randomly.. i couldnt sign in to facebook or make a search in the android market are the ones i noticed. It goes in and out. Any ideas what this might be?

When i flashed the new rom i erased all data caches to get it to work so basically started off with a brand new phone sadly. But it is noticably faster which outweighs the reset problem.

I flashed the kernel and have also had connectivity issues. I restored a backup and no longer had connection problems.

I tested the kernel on homerun battle 3d. This game plays fairly alright with stock kernel but with the OC it ran much smoother. Will reflash when its no longer a beta.

Hmmm, set cpu should have a slider allowing you to go as far as drellisdees current kernel allows, 787. Are you set as root? Does the3 cpu slider just stay stuck at 600 mhz?

You need to have SuperUser.apk installed on your phone.

You need to flash the kernel provided by Dres.

Start SetCPU turn scaling OnDemand, adjust slider to desired clockspeed.

Thats it, all the other settings are not necessary.
