Root Oxygen ROM

Cheers for the info Jammy. Finally got a bit of space for apps.

If you're using the oxygen table from alpharev, its probably too small for most other roms, so yes.

It all comes down to personal preference really. I use Defrost but have looked at others but always come back to Defrost. Oxygen looks good but for some reason it kept eating up my internal memory. On Defrost I have about 115mb free but on Oxygen, with the same apps installed it was down to 85mb. Not sure why that should be.

I too finally decided to try Oxygen, and have encountered a problem.
I skipped the setup pages whilst starting up the phone after flashing so wasn't able to add my hotmail account, now when trying to manually add my account via pop3 it sticks on "checking incoming server settings..." for several minutes, leaving me no choice but to cancel the setup.

Has anyone else ran in to this problem? Or is it just me, and a solution is staring me in the face?

Is there a way to get the dock on the top of the notification screen? I found it in a blue theme, but I want it in the grey oxygen theme. Cheers.

Hi - I'm using Oxygen RC6, with 512Mb ext3 A2SD+ partition on my HTC Desire.
It works GREAT - but have a problem with some WIDGETS.
Some of the widgets simply dont work...? They do NOT show up on the Widget list when I try to add them.
An example: Google Buzz Widget not working.

What can be the problem?

thanks.

Could it be because I made the ext3 partition AFTER the installation of the ROM?
I have checked the partition with 'quick system info' - it works well, and are in use by the system.
Should I re-flash?

Worth a try. With a data wipe (titanium backup first of data and apps)

I am so closed to going to Gingervillain, its unreal....

Richard's been adding a few more CyanogenMod features to GV though. I've got 0.7 zip on my SD card, but battery is a bit low for flashing just now...

hello....i was thinking about trying the oxygen rom myself....but i have a few questions first.....i am using the cyanogen 6.1 right now and the battery life is about the same....also use set cpu and cant seem to tell much of a difference....is the oxygen rom better on battery life?? is the rom stable?? and what r the main differences in oxygen vs what i am using now?

Exactly. Same developer and the new CM additions in 0.7 are what was missing for me.

Cause of data2sd though, I'm having a bit of a mission here (not easy to do a data wipe)

What advantages does GV have over Oxygen. Reading off the xda thread, I can't see any real differences. Except for two finger rotation on google maps, but I'm pretty sure the Desire can't do that anyway.

Well it can do it because My 2.2 Defrost 6.1 could do it (after implementing a fix).

Which has 2 finger rotation?

Possibly no advantages. As said earlier, I'm a defrost man. I like the Cyanogen additions Richardtrip puts in his roms, so I would always go GV over Oxy for that reason.

Also, I am familiar with RT's work as a dev and not so much with AdamG. All I know of him really is what he posts on XDA

Aaah, I didn't think the desire had the hardware required to rotate. What kind of cyanogenmod additions are you talking of? I'm a fan of oxygen because its very clean and has very little bloat added. However I like extras if they're going to be useful. Hence my inquisitiveness.

Well they're not fully implemented. Im missing stuff still from Defrost such as custom status / pull down colours and battery percentage.

But the performance settings and other user interface, power widget etc are there.

i'm running oxygen 1.0.4 and i just noticed that the world clock functionality is missing..do u lose it cos its an HTC application? any suitable replacements arnd?
