Root P3Droid Enabling 360 Degree Screen Rotation?

I'm don't like my homescreen to not rotate 360 degrees, it is a birthright of any droid owner soooo....

Sounds like he found a way to make the screen rotate the full 360 degrees. I don't rotate my screen much but this is still pretty neat.
 
if he can get the gingerblur to rotate its home screens (not just rotate in apps / applist) that would be freaking amazing.
I dont know if thats even possible though since it doesnt rotate at all right now
 
I just installed the one that unkleduke made and it works like a champ so far!
I now like the new blur even more!


EDIT W/ MORE INFO: so I sent a tweet to P3 asking if his was different than the one unkleduke did... he simply replied "they are different"
So I guess we will wait and see how they are different when it comes out.
for now, I've got a rotating blur so im happy!

I've never been a fan of rotating home screens. Though 360 degree rotation is cool, I don't see it's usefulness, but that's just me :D

well, ive installed both now. I dont see a difference in how they act between them but the file size is different

p3's does not do 360, its 270

I'm guessing it's a mod to BlurHome.apk right? Well, let me just download it so see what apk was modded.

I may ask unkleduke what he edited just so I know. I might add it as zip file for BWC theme, in case people want it.

EDIT:
It is BlurHome.apk. Since that's the only apk that is modded, the people on BWC theme that want this mod can just download the zip file you linked and install it because I didn't mod BlurHome.apk for BWC theme :D

Personally, I'm a transitions-mod freak and love this stuff. I miss the rotation that's available from launchers like LPP and GL. So, I'm flashing it now and will let you know.....



I LOVE IT!! Screen/widget redraws are quick and smooth. Much smoother than the redraws on LPP or GL.

Thumbs up! I recommend this highly to those so inclined! :)

yeah honestly, this was the one function I was missing from LPP and now that I have this I dont see myself using any launchers over this blur (though I do miss the scrolling dock from LPP lol)

I enjoyed the scrolling dock and the scrolling widgets, especially the one for scheduling, but I can live with the stock blur widget which opens up to the scrolling calendar. You see, I have a professional schedule and use it for seeing appt's all day long, so it's essential to me.

It's a really simple mod. I just decompiled the download from the link you provided and compared it to stock BlurHome.apk.

In AndroidManifest.xml there are two palces where it says "nosensor", all you have to do is change it to "sensor" and that's it :D

Just made the change, recompiled, applied to my phone, and I am rotating.....wait, I feel dizzy now....lol

hahaha I love when some of the stuff is simple. so I wonder what is different between the one that unkleduke made and the one the P3 made...
P3 told me that they are "different" but that "they both do the same thing"

Well I should say, I didn't compare "every" single file, just the obvious ones where the change might be.

Talking to unkleduke about it and looking at P3's tweets it seems like the only difference is that unkleduke decompiled and compiled and edited AndridManifest with apktool, while P3 (with Xeudexous' help) edited the file with a HEX editor.
