Panda Home

Click on settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Home, Clear Defaults.
Then when you click on the Home button it will ask you if you want to use pandahome or Home. Check use as default then select the one you want to use as default.

Wow! I didn't know there was an update until just now. WOW!

Thanks for these instructions. I set up a theme using Panda Home and loved it. It kept switching back to the default home screen after I spent quite a while customizing it. I didn't know what I was doing wrong. I had 7 screens (The ones on the far left and far right only scrolled over a little and I don't understand that. They weren't full screens. It seemed like I only had 6.) and loved the pink lady theme with the hearts. I'll try your instructions and maybe my theme and wallpaper will stay put. :)

I went to manage apps and didn't have the option to clear the default home. I pressed the button but nothing happened. As usual, the wallpaper stayed and the widgets went back to the home settings.

Tried PandaHome and loved it, but one thing made me uninstall it. Perhaps someone can give me a solution? Sounds extremely nitpicky but it's a dealbreaker for me...

Why does PandaHome replace the google search widget with a different one? When you click the search bar it makes another search bar pop up at the top of the screen (so annoying). Plus, the size of the widget is different which messes up my layout.

Does anyone know how to use the "stock" google search widget with Panda?

I've wondered the same thing. It's silly to click on a Google search just to bring up a different Google search.

Slows my phone down so much. Does some wierd buggy stuff from time to time too. Like going to my homepage really slow and force closing. Actually force closing a lot. I really do like it just seems like it has some things that still need fixing.

I noticed something today. With the previous version, you could add a screen simply by dragging something over. Removing a screen was as simple as clearing it. Now, you have to go into the configuration to do either. Also, I wanted to add a screen to the left, and when I told it to go from 3 screens to 4, it added it to the right. Bummer. So I went to remove it, and the OK/Cancel buttons were in Chinese or something.

FWIW, I emailed the developer.

I tried following the instructions above to set Panda Home as my default home. However, when following the instructions above, it won't let me 'Clear Defaults.' The only option I have is Force Stop. What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do? I'm using a Behold II. TIA.

Well, I finally figured out how to turn off the dockbars so I like it even more, now. (Inside the dockbar settings, after you expand the dockbar to customize, there's an on/off switch.) :-)

You have to clear the defaults from the default Home settings, not from Pandahome. Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Home Then when you press your home key again, you'll get the option to set it to Pandahome.

That's funny, the dockbars are the only reason I use it. :)

I've tried it from both the default and Panda. Maybe it's because of the TouchWiz interface on the Samsung. Any other ideas? TIA.

Well I hate them. :-) I have no use for them, but they kept popping open, even when I was looking for an app in the drawer, and they'd just stay open until I closed them.

You can clear defaults only from the application that is currently the default. Once you've done that, when you go to a home page, it will ask you to select the application you want to finish the task or something similar. You check the box to use as default then select Panda home. which will then be the default.

Install it to a home page and it is always there.

It sounds like you don't understand the instructions clearly.

Click on settings, Applications, Manage Applications, Home, Clear Defaults.

No I understand completely. I did this and it did not work. I bought dxtop and actually like it so I am using that now. I'm thinking that it might have something do with the TouchWiz Interface...

anyone else having problems with 1.79 that was released today? I can no longer get to the options menu by long pressing the desktop and selection the assistant option. It seems totally screwed on the droid.

This thing definitely has problems. I just completely uninstalled it, and reinstalled it. Everything was working fine on reinstall. All I did was put my shortcuts on the 3 desktop screens, and setup the drawers with some contacts/bookmarks.

Now I can't get back into the Home Settings again to configure the app.

The forums on the developers page are totally screwed up so I can't post anything there.

Download the app Home Switcher to set and clear default home screens. Priceless app if you're using home screen replacements.

I do find the dockbars useful but I wish there was a way to make them close automatically after making a selection.

I noticed that with the update I can no longer change my icons. I'm running the HTC theme and when I try to change an icon it automatically defaults back to the HTC icon.

I had the same issues with PandaHome installed on my Droid :(

I really liked it a lot, but it slowed my phone down & it freezes up when i go to the Home screen.

Can someone explain what the dock bars do exactly? I don't see a purpose for them and I don't see how to turn them off either.
