People waiting for backordered EVO, raise you hand.

Pre-ordered 6/3 from Best Buy. Was scheduled to arrive on 6/9. Shipment was delayed to 6/11. Delayed shipment only included 15 phones. Best Buy doesn't know when my phone will come in, but assures me that it's not their fault.

I put my name in at Best Buy early last week (Monday or Tuesday) and they called me on Saturday letting me know my two Evos were ready to be picked up.

hopefully this backorder wait means they're actually fixing some of the issues before sending out the next batch. doubt it though haha

When I attempted to order on Sprint's website, it was $299 for the phone. They did offer a $100 mail in rebate, however.

I chose to go with Walmart.com (LetsTalk), since it was only $199.

I'm not sure how much they are in stores.

Hello, I ordered mine (06/10/2010) from Radio Shack, I was called today and told that they will not have the EVO till after the First of next month.

Ordered mine at the Shack last Wednesday. It was supposed to be here on Monday. It is Thursday evening (the following week), and I am being told they hope they come in tomorrow or Saturday now.

RS, BB, Sam's, Sprint Stores all seem to not have any in my area...

I just got back from RS. They told me it would be in by next Friday at the earliest.

I still have 1 months left on my contract with AT&T, but I couldn't wait any longer. I'll just pay the $60 bucks and be much happier than I ever was with this iPhone.

I was in the same boat as you at one point, my ATT contract isnt up till July 11th, but i didnt wanna wait that and because i was going on vacation towards end of june, I was put on the 2nd pre order list told it would come in june 11th got a surprised call and got it 2 days earlier :), i hope sprint ramps up the order cause this phone is nice.

i suggest you people try craiglist .. and just buy it .. I seen brand new one for $350. not saying it will be the same but hey you never know ...

Yep, I'm on the waitlist too.

I've heard a lot of explanations on here and other websites trying to explain this mess, but really, you don't even have enough phones to make it through a couple of days? Really?

Everybody knew this would be easily the best Sprint phone and Android is already somewhat proven (unlike the new Palm UI last year). Why wouldn't Sprint order a much larger number in anticipation? I don't buy the excuse that if they ordered too many, they would have to sit in a warehouse. Come on, if they ordered too many and it took a month to sell through them...it wouldn't be a terrible thing and certainly would be better than the present situation.

Sprint is lucky that both the Iphone and Verizon android phones are having supply issues as well. But Sprint really screwed this one up. I can just imagine the amount of money they could have made if this was done right.

Oh well.

I ordered mine today from Sprint thru the phone and they will even ship it to me overnight. I will get my phone tomorrow. I would suggest going this way if you could wait a few months for your rebate. I tried thru Best Buy and they took too long.

What number did you dial? They (via the sales number of their website) told me today and yesterday that they have no stock - and no eta.

I'm with this op - Telesales isn't taking orders and only have a canned response from HTC that they hope to have more in stock the first of next week. Not the words I wanted to hear on my 1st day eligible for my upgrade! :(

Sprint fires employee who leaked weak EVO 4G sales numbers

By Vladislav Savov posted Jun 14th 2010 7:14PM

You know the backstory by now: Sprint boasted that the EVO 4G was its fastest selling phone ever a couple of days after hitting the American market, before abruptly correcting itself and admitting that the EVO's sales were in fact in line with those achieved by the Pre last summer. What you, and we, didn't know till now, however, is that Sprint's self-correction was sparked off by an employee with a curious mind and posting privileges over on the xda-developers forum. On June 6, according to MobileCrunch, this unnamed hero of truthiness browsed Sprint's internal inventory system and nailed down a figure of 65,500 sold units from Sprint's own stores -- a stat far south from what Sprint would announce a day later. That number ultimately found its way onto the message board, and though it obviously shouldn't be taken as authoritative (or exhaustive), it was enough to get Sprint to hit the auto-correct button and part ways with the activist member of staff. Harsh.

First I'd like to say i am sorry. I got my Evo by chance on launch day. I did not preorder, and they still sold it to me and people that did preorder, were being told that we don't have one for you even though u paid fifty bucks to make sure you had one waiting for you.......... I thought that was jacked up and made me glad I just showed up when they opened.

I put my name on a list at a sprint store the monday after release, that same day I called around a bit, and found one at a sprint reseller, went and bought it...

yesterday I JUST! got the call from the sprint store, lol I actually forgot about it...

The Shack just called me. They got mine and some others in today! On my way to go get it in a few...

I had ordered through LetsTalk.com

Spoke to them today, they said they expected a shipment due June 26th, and for me to receive it by July 1. I canceled my order.

Called a local Sprint Store. They said they were getting shipments twice a day, everyday. I signed up on their short list, and should have my phone tomorrow. They stated Sprint Stores were getting phones much faster than affiliates. I'll keep you posted.
