People waiting for backordered EVO, raise you hand.

I went in to my local store this morning because I am having issues with my phone wont charge when connected to charger and powered on, it will how ever charge when powered off... anyways. I was worried they would be back ordered but they seem to get on shipped today for Monday, so seems like they are starting to get them in stock again!

i called every local store near me and none have in stock.. where are you guys finding them

I agree. There are no evo's to be found around here nor at Sprint, but I'm sure somebody will come on here later and say they "bought" one by calling Sprint or checking on the website and timing it "perfectly."

Good luck.

Just got my Evo!

Signed up at Sprint Store this morning, got a call to come pick it up.

Same here. I called a Sprint store today around 12 noon (after calling a number of Sprint stores and Best Buys). They took my name and number. By 12:45, I got a call back saying that 1 unit was on it's way to the store.

I definitely got lucky because most stores wouldn't even put me on the list via phone - or they said they had long lists.

It's a numbers game. Just keep trying.

I had ordered through LetsTalk.com

Spoke to them today, they said they expected a shipment due June 26th, and for me to receive it by July 1. I canceled my order.

Called a local Sprint Store. They said they were getting shipments twice a day, everyday. I signed up on their short list, and should have my phone tomorrow. They stated Sprint Stores were getting phones much faster than affiliates. I'll keep you posted.

really? I put my name down on the list on monday and they told me that it will be about 2 weeks before i get mine. i called today and they told me that i was 21st on the list and that i should be getting my phone next thurs or friday. i can't wait to get my hands on this phone. i played with the display model for like 30 mins. and just fell in love with it.

Seriously, just put your name on a few waiting lists, if you're still waiting. Since my experience below, a few Chicago Best Buy stores called me back yesterday to let me know they received new EVO shipments. Monday seems to be a pretty good day for that. I had already received mine, so I turned them down, but it's apparently worth the extra effort!

I pre-ordered the white one from bestbuy. Called all of the retailers in my area and they said they were wait listed through mid july.

You guys should try Best Buy again. they had them on their website as of 6/20 for sale and in stock. I just got mines yesterday.

I think Best Buy is getting them back in stock. I just called three in my area and 2 of them had several in stock.

I shouldn't complain TOO much since I've only been on the waiting list since the 17th when my Sprint Premiere upgrade date came around, but I guess the TOTAL lack of this phone got to me for all of us waiting. I reload the Shop for Phones page on Sprint.com 50 times a day & for 5 days it has had NO change.

So, last night, I fired off a very courteous and frustrated email to Dan - and I got the usual "thanks for the email and we'll get back with you... blah, blah" thing. Well, five minutes ago I got a call from Sprint. She has called ALL of the stores in my area for me and talked to the closest store where my name is on their list. She says I am a "priority" there, but that I shouldn't expect my phone for a week. This store - the only corporate store in Bradenton - got TWO phones this morning. Even those of you who need your fingers can handle that one: TWO!!! But here is their good news, "We are working diligently with HTC to provide more units that meet our quality standards" - Hmmmm, isn't that interesting. I gave her a gold star for the phone call and not some standard generated email! :D

Of course, I STILL don't have an EVO, but I did get a real response!

I wonder if the lack of evo anywhere for the past week has anything to do with the quality standard statement. I hope the new ones coming out now do indeed meet a new quality standard.

I am on 3 different call lists (RS, Sprint Store and Sams Club). I also have pre-orders on 3 separate online retailers. Not one call back. I called the sprint store today and they told me they received three (3) and were sold out. No idea when they would get more. THREE!! . WTF!! . I am tired of waiting for sprint to get their shit together with this. There is no excuse for this BS. Verizon is releasing/announcing an EVo competitor TOMORROW!!. T-Mobile is releasing/announcing the Galaxy S NEXT WEEK!!. What the F**K is sprint waiting for ? There are thousands of people out there waiting with the cash in their pockets and credit approved to get this F**King phone, and they just seem to be dicking around. I am about ready to move on. This is BS.

I have no doubt in my mind that the lack of EVO's is due to them fixing the problems with it before sending out more bad units. Sprint and HTC both know the units sent out since launch have been below quality standards. I would bet that in the next week or so it wont be very hard to find a evo anywhere.

I imagine with the rash of returns on the build quality, I'll bet they are making sure the latest built ones are right before they start shipping them out in bulk again. I'm willing to wait a few extra weeks to get the better ones myself. That's just me though.

Bah, hawkijustin, you beat me by a few seconds. :)

Last Thursday my wife wanted a new phone. I went to the Sprint store at about 7:50 PM and walked out an hour later with 2 EVOs. I wanted a 5 line family plan so I got to bump someone else.

I love my Evo.

That may be the case. HTC is having problems with their 2 best selling and hig demand units : EVO and Incredible. The incredible has parts supply problems and has been out of stock for 2 MONTHS. In fact, I think there hasn't been a shipment since the initial release. The EVO 4G, it seems, has no parts problems, but for some weird reason they only had about 60 thousand units sold the first week and now the stores are getting 2 or three at a time. While I am sure HTC and Sprint are somehow working to make the next batch of units yield a lot less returns, it is quite strange that HTC just can't seem to keep up with demand. Maybe there are other things happening here. A lot of folks (me being one of them) are changing carriers for these phones. We want them. With the impending release of competing units from other carriers, you would think that sprint and HTC would want to get this stuff out there as quickly as possible. But all we get is silence. Nobody knows what's going on. Some retailers like wirefly and Walmart, are not taking EVO orders (or carrying them in most stores, in case of walmart, at least in my area they dropped Sprint in ALL their local stores), because sprint can't even guarantee adequate supply. I just wish we knew more about what's happening.

yeah its like the wizard of oz "pay no attention to the man behind the curtain". Something is going on here. HTC knew these phones were going to be hot, why not ramp up production weeks before and after to keep up with how fast they are selling unless you had a problem and needed to fix that problem with the phone before you can send more out.

I agree with Crodley. My guess is that they are fixing some problems - and I'll gladly wait for them to do so. I am ready for my EVO too, but I don't want version 1.0 problems. That is precisely why I didn't get one on release day.

You wait, Apple will have the same problem with the new iPhone - lot's of orders, and no phones. I have been through this with them more than once.

Relax and have a cocktail. You're phone will be in before you know it!
