Root PG I need your help!!

So I installed Extreme 2. Didn't like it so I went back to Extreme 1. Everything is cool and working but I tried to install the backup I had with extreme 1 previously and it says MD5 sums mismatch. Why can't I install the backup I had for extreme 1 now? I have 3 actually and none of them will work.

Trying to do it this way to save having to install everything on my phone again. Any ideas?

did you happen to switch to or from RZR to CWM?
 
No CWM all the way. So I know that 1 installed okay but im still getting the boot animation for 2. Is that weird? I don't know everything is working fine. Should I do a reset and a clean install again. Should my backups still work even though I went from 1 to 2 back to 1?

did you rename your backups?

Interesting. So there is no way of renaming them so you know exactly what is what? With out it Fing something up?

On extreme 2 is there anyway I can manually change the lock screen and add a reboot into recovery option under power? Is that possible or is that the way it's gotta be with 2?

on the backups not really, learn to read n remember the date ya made em lol

I'm waiting to get with mt about the reboot options, but yea it can be done, but not an easy mod.

and same with the lockscreen, I tried just diabling the metro one in th build.prop but then it wouldnt boot, but yes that too can be changed, I just have to learn how to do it correctly lol.

Have to remember I normally dont do much with the stock roms, I work with CM mostly. ;)

I gotcha that's all I needed to know.

One last question and Ill leave you be. Does it hurt the phone or shorten the life of the phone in any way changing between ROMs? Just curious.

I've not had an issue yet n I prolly flash more than most reg users on here lol
 
Also make sure you don't use special characters when you rename a backup. I rename my backups all the time without any issues. Only problem is when i use a dash or space. Just use letters w/o spaces our symbols and you'll be fine. If there ever is an issue with a backup just rename it on your PC and try again.

Yeah I just went back and renamed to something as close to the original as I could and it booted up perfect.
 
for the Power menu options, im using the stock theme Apus created; it includes recovery and reboot options in the power menu, then you can theme right over it. I themed mine using uot and rom toolbox
