Phandroid Hands on

Camera could easily turn out to be the best ever on any Android.

Yep. The only ding for me is the slight curve of the phone. Not a good thing for VR use. I can appreciate the premise of a curve for durability, but do not like it none the less. Kind of like curved TVs. Not seeing the point of that design since angles are constrained and the actual perception of image is smaller than a flat display. Same on a phone too, though in this case a slight curve.

There are some nice generic VR units coming out this year with over 90 degree FOV and good lens design (important). I am curious if the curve results in not being a good fit for them. LG has one coming out, but already reported to be an inferior cardboard style design.

I don't mind the curve, but I do not like that they made the chin taller. Kind of ruins the look for me compared to the G3.

The only question is did enough people hold off on the Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9 to buy the G4? LG didn’t do themselves any favors by waiting this long to announce the G4

I did not. If they'd have released on cycle with HTC/Samsung, I'd have likely bought the G4. They typically like to be first so I think they were testing with the 810 and scrambled the jets before switching to the 808.

I held off on the S6 Edge because of the price and was hoping it was going to drop a little. I also like my G3 so much was wondering if they were going to come out with the G4 so I can't wait to go into At&t and play with them side by side and decide. HTC lost me years ago my husband is a huge fan still though. Just can't make up my mind what I do know if I get a G4 I will not go with the leather I do not like the look.
