Root Phiremod 6.1

im ok with that battery issue, 25% a day wont effect me, it charges every night any way. ok i answered my own questions. ill start a thread for the other

all done, that was easy

except this

- Flash the ALSA update

where do i do this?

CM7 currently has an issue where the battery will still drain somewhere in the range of 1-2% per hour when in sleep mode. If you want to keep CM7 / Phiremod there's no way around it at the moment, but it will hopefully be fixed soon.

That's unfortunate. Thanks for the info. I really like this rom so I hope it can get fixed soon.

The only issue I'm having with this Rom is that I cannot updatetue LCD density because of the new kernal I'm guessing or some other item that may be causing it.

I was going to do this tonight but I see that Phiremod 6.2 is out now.

Which one is preferable? If I go with 6.2 do I still need to flash ALSA or is it built in now? What about the kernal?

:)

I was hoping he'd do one with CM7.02 stable.

Last time he forgot to include ALSA so suspect it's included now.

I'd go with the latest, 6.2. I'm updating right now. :D

I just just about to try this new 6.2 and I went into clockwork recovery v3.0.1.0

I got this error on the bottom of the screen.

Clockworkmod recovery v3.0.1.0
e:cant mount /cache/recovery/command
e:cant mount /cache/recovery/log
e:cant open /cache/recovery /log
e:cant mount/cache/recovery/last_log
e:cant open cache /recovery last log.

What does it mean?

Try this: http://androidforums.com/nookcolor-all-things-root/301948-difficulty-completing-cwm-backup-data.html

Does it matter if you use Rom Manager or just boot into recovery?

I've booted off a bootable CWM disk and installed after booting into recovery from RM. Both work.

Flashed to 6.2 and I cannot get rid of shortcut icons on the home screens. Long pressing them does nothing. Anyone else having this problem?

Also long pressing on the screen does nothing so I cannot add widgets or shortcuts.

You can also only OC to 925 rather than 1100.

I am thinking 6.1 may have been a better choice. heh

Edit: A re flash fixed the issue. Still odd about the OC drop though.

I'm having an issue where if I go to "My Apps" in the market, it doesn't list any downloads. So I'm not getting notified when there are updates :(

Anybody have a similar issue?

Find market in settings... manage applications. Clear data and cache.

If that doesn't help, try flashing Phiremod 6.2 over what you have now.

That didn't help :(
And I had the same problem under 6.1, and tried upgrading to 6.2 both over top of that AND by wiping first, and got the same problem both times.

Also I flashed the 4/24 kernel after flashing firemod but it's not letting me pick a cpu speed higher than 925 still?

925 is the stock 6.2 kernel (aka stable 04/04/11), not 4/24. If you downloaded them from here, you want the ones from the test builds folder. Bear in mind some people have wifi connect problems with the test kernels.

Did you try flashing from Kernel Manager Lite? That always has the latest version.

When I do an upgrade, 6.0 > 6.1 > 6.2, I usually format system, then flash the new rom. I don't know why you have issues with Market. Maybe you should post on Phiremod's website?

Reboot your tablet, and let it sit idle for about 5 minutes. Then run Quadrant 3 or 4 times and post your best score. Quadrant isn't the best benchmark, but it's free.

My best was about 2550 @ 1300.

So I am an idiot and figured out that the kernel wasn't flashing properly because I had downloaded the sd card version instead of the emmc version. Oops! Once I got the right version it flashed right and I am overclocked to 1.2!

And I don't know what I did but my market seems to be working correctly... thanks for all your help!
