Root phone rings when waking or putting to sleep!

* TRUCKS ARE BEAUTIFUL *
Every time I wake the phone or put it to sleep it starts playing the ringtone, which is very loud because of my job. Anyway I tried rebooting, pulled the battery, tried different settings, no luck. This is very annoying, I'm thinking it's a setting I'm missing. Any help, my wife would appreciate cause I've been waking her up all morning!

Reflash ROM...never heard of anything like this b4.

Thanks sammyz but I found the problem. It was under settings >sound>feedback >screenlock sounds!?...I had that box checked always did, it always would just click, why it started ringing I don't know, weird!
Thanks for answering ,I do appreciate all the work you and others do to help us all and in a timely fashion -_-

Well after fixing that problem, another problem popped up which i had before and thought was fixed. When someone calls the ringtone plays then the notification plays right after it!?
last time the problem was in settings >profiles>default settings. This time I can't find the problem, any ideas?

My idea is the same as before :p
Once I couldn't get my phone to vibrate while silent at all, I went throught the settings for Messages and made sure the settings were correct, I did eveything and tried another app and still would not vibrate.....reflashed ROM ...fixed it ;)

@badblue1, you will spend more time finding the setting than backing up apps and reflashing....and sometimes it's just a bad flash/phone going bizarre...
This is why I like CM9, they took out a lot of useless settings and battery life/performance is 10x better. :) I would be using it if I changed out the apn-config file to metropcs so that MMS would work for me. I'm just lazy :rolleyes:

I know your probably right, I should switch to cm9 but man i just got cm7 to where I like it alot,but with the crappy battery life I've been having and way to many settings I might be better off switching over!

I have never really looked into cm9 and yes I know there are alot of guides out there, but would you mind pointing me in the right direction of a good, stable cm9!?
Do I need a different recovery, kernel, should i use a wiper. Any help switching over would great. I know you guys are very busy, but I'm still a noob and I know I can trust what you tell me to do!..... T.I.A.

If you have Green CWM Recovery or cannibal that will work...as far as installing CM9, just wipe everything, except mSD card (unless you never created an ext3 partition) and flash ROM, flash gapps. Boot into phone and sign into Google as soon as you're able to, apps will install automatically, when that's done just reboot and start using your phone.

I have vm670nh recovery ,I never partitioned my SD card, do I need too. I don't have a PC, sorry for all the questions ! What rom should I use I read early today about cold as ice, I'm not real sure about it,seems like there's no more development of it or should I go with qauttrimus? Do i have to go to androidcentral or xda for links,updates, procedures? Every time I've tried ac I have so much trouble with the password and I've tried several times, I could never log in....I'll read some more about cm9,but if you find some time to answer these couple questions I'll try not to bug ya too much!!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH -_-:confused:
