Root Phone stucko on "4G" white screen

i tried downloading the one i linked above. It downloads then during installation i get "installation uncessful"

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Gah, maybe you can't update the older version through the market. Follow the instructions here for installing it if it won't update:

[APP] Superuser 2.3.6.1 - Now on the Market [2010-09-05] - xda-developers

Or you could just flash a custom rom and be done with this nonsense ;). Almost every custom rom out there comes with the superuser app.

ok can you recommend a good rom for me? a reliable one that's pretty good on the battery. I see alot of roms but I don't see any specific place that tells you the pro's and cons of each one
I don't have 4g so that's not important but i would like one that has everything else working the way it should. is there a rom that has the bloatware removed?

There are several threads about this. Example:

http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/236642-what-you-favorite-roms.html

Some of the most popular are myn's warm, fresh, and calkulin's evio. Just keep in mind that you'll need to pay attention to the software version. Since most rom developers are upgrading to 3.70, you'll need to update your radios, etc.

Here's a list of all roms:

HTC Supersonic/ROMs - XDA-Developers

Here's the link to update your radios if you need to:

[ Radios ][ 12-17 ] All EVO Radio, WiMAX, PRI, NV & HBoot versions - xda-developers

Read up in the rooting for dummies thread before doing this if you've never done it. You say you've flashed kernels, so it's really not much different. Just wipe data, too. I suggest if you want everything working perfectly that you stick with a Sense based rom, rather than AOSP.
