Root Please be safe

Also a big shout out to all of you in Public Works, Police, and Fire departments as many of you will not have the leisure of leaving but have to stay and take care of the city's that are being pounded by this storm. You all stay safe as you keep the city running and working in the orderly fashion it was designed.

yeah good call argedion. to all who are out there savings lives, you get a BIG THANK YOU.

again guys i hope all goes well for you all.

We're getting pounded pretty good here. We're at 6" of rain right now and the winds are at 45+ MPH and only going to get stronger. I have my generator set up and ready to go. I hope to heck I don't need to use it. Our lights went out once then came back on a few seconds later. The cool thing is, here in the Baltimore area, its rain and wind. The western end of Maryland is actually experiencing a BLIZZARD! They're expected to get somewhere around 20-30" of snow. It isn't very often you see a hurricane that produces a blizzard. The wife and kids were off work/school today and will be again tomorrow. Looks like another day of the family and Black Ops tomorrow. :D

well i'm glad that you have your family intake.

a blizzard? that is crazy. i'm learning to appreciate what i have here on the west coast.

Well, 3:30 am and my power is out. The pull rope to the generator broke on the 1st attempt to start. Nothing nearly as fun as trying to fix it in rain and 50 mph winds. All fixed and running. Hopefully the power company will have it fixed soon.

O man that sux! I can imagine the expletives flowing when that happened but glad you got it going! :) The worst I have here is high winds knocking down small tree limbs and such so I am in no way complaining!

Hope all you guys are faring well out there as best you can;)

Thanks for asking! Our power came back on around 1:30 pm EST. So roughly 12 hours without. I was able to keep the basement dry, the fridge cold and the TV/cable/internet rolling. Only bad thing was the Black Ops servers were down :( all day. Probably a good thing since I was up until around 5 am this morning worried about the generator and carbon monoxide. I'm sure the winds kept the exhaust fumes moving but I had an incident this past summer where our CO alarms went off while running the generator. And YES, I keep it about 15' from the house. Some how it still made its way in the house. I spent part of the day catching up on sleep. Minimal damage to report here. Found a trampoline in my neighbors back yard that wasnt his. All safe and sound though. Unfortunately other areas were not as lucky. Our beach town got its butt tore up, NJ shore was basically destroyed. I'm so very thankful it wasnt any worse here. My thoughts and prayers to those who had it worse.
