Root Please Help! Stuck on Htc Evo 4g Boot Screen

I wwas told that i had the wrong rom installed and when i go into recovery mode i have pc36diag.zip in recovery mode how can i root this phone and fix this pc 36 diag problem im stupid to this stuff im an auto tech

welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!

ok we need some info from you:

1.what is your hboot and your baseband(radio) ? power off then press and hold power+vol down. this will take you to the bootloader. report back with what you see on the screen.

2.what rom did you flash?

3.what recovery do you have?

4.how did you root your phone?

answer those questions then we can then set you straight.
 
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone that posted in this thread cause this just happened to my phone and all the info given helped me get it back up and running!
