I did not install CWM recovery as I didnt want to brick it or mess it up as I use use and need my phone quite a bit. I'll wait and see if anybody can get it to work. The all in one tool can be downloaded from links provided in the "all things root" thread.

Sure, but you cant have any bloat removed. I need the V6B update.zip

Can you tell me how should I get this extracted? I am on v6 rooted and willing to do this for you. Just a question for my knowledge: will the v6B lock my bootloader? And if I cancel the update, can I go back to v6?

if any Dev's in this forum need the
-VS920ZV7_15.S7_15.P58014.R5.cab OTA update [584.060kb]
-VS920ZV7_15.bin [1.393.664kb]

Ripped from LG Tools update

The comments on the second link don't look too promising.

VERIFIED!

I can confirm this works because I just used it and it worked first time. I tried dspl's script 3 times, tried jcases manual method 2 times and neither would work. So anyone who is having issues just use this method for root because it worked for me.

Bam. That's the one I'll use. :)

I think I'm going crazy - the OTA update keeps attempting to install then fails after reboot. I want to try the Verizon software upgrade assistant method, but I can't find this app anywhere. I read somewhere it should install automatically when I connect the phone to the PC???? Not happening, can't find a download on Verizon's site either...

Well you might not have to uninstall the drivers because i have a lucid and installed the spectrum drivers to root my phone before the ics upgrade

What connection settings was your phone on? (USB Debug or not, and Charge Only/Mass storage/Internet)...

Never mind, couldn't get it to work no matter what I did. I found the installer for VZW Software Upgrade Assistant in /system on my phone, copied it to the PC, installed it, ran it. Phone is being updated now...

Totally stock phone....installed ICS yesterday. Woke up this AM to a Spectrum going haywire! Dialing the number of someone I called yesterday, dialing another number, as I heard two different voicemail systems answering in the background, vibrating, apps trying to open, totally out of my control. I had to yank the battery to get it to stop.

Really don't want to see this happening again.

I think i just bricked my phone :argh::D

now, im trying to get back to ICS stock using KP500 method..
wish me luck :argh:

UPDATE: returning to ICS Stock, done! hufffhhh
