^ nice g, love the axis pentas. yea the car is pretty small, and it cost a lot to just make it fast a little. cant ever be fast without going FI/SC with these japanese tuners.

I don't even wanna tell you what I went through installing headers. I'm an avid nismo fan. Always have been and always will be. I just can't get away from my v8 obsession. There's no replacement for displacement.

On a side note, g35 was one of the sexiest cars to loom at. I don't like the g37 at all

Here is mine:

Acceleration is not the best, but it moves through NYC faster than just abut anything. :p

yea, installing headers on the VQ engines are a PITA. i heard it can take up to like 6 hours just to get them on. i do agree with you that the g35 looks better than the g37, at least overall. but i love the way the g37 front end looks.

but american muscle v8 > vq v6

The first time I did a header install it took me about eight hours...damn fbodies are difficult in every aspect i swear.

my old ride can be found on my myspace...www.myspace.com/infiltwb iirc.

took it off the street in 06 when we moved to ny.

all motor sohc with a factory 9.8:1 bottom end...and they said 13's would never happen on a sohc all motor neon :p

i would think faster as i've made mid 12 passes in my buddys 06 gto w/ a shifter and intake...

Not calling BS at all but thats a hell of a number. It must have been perfect weather conditions and a damn near perfect launch cause with, i'm guessing short shifter, and an intake without a tune is amazing to achieve mid 12's. Again, I'm not calling BS, just really amazed by that number

I never liked the late model gto's but I love the new g8 gxp's. I wish Ponti never went outta business.

Track temp was 81, air temp was 68, relative humidity was 40%, slight tailwind around 3kts sustained, englishtown and I've got about 15 years of brackets and 4 years of pro mod under my belt hehe.I'll see if the owner got video of the run, pet sure he has the slips.

You'd have to have that much experience BC an average driver could only wish he could achieve that. A car is only as fast as her driver. Good job bro. Major props.

I've seen Goats run mid-12s. Being a Bimmer fan, I've seen some vids of 135s and 335s taking on Goats...and beating them ;)... But then some 1ers and 3ers are hitting mid-11s on stock turbos. And that's just dumb.

i have to do it, it is because i am an old man now.

i drive a 140,000 mile 96 dakota. its ugly and paid for.

2 types of people own nice cars;
- poor (in debt) people who want to look like they aren't broke when they are
- people who actually have the money and have so much of it that they are willing to put it into a depreciating asset that only costs more and more money.

that said, i love looking at nice cars!
carry on....

ROFL nice faber.

Most of the cars i've raced (with the exception of the pro mod, and purpose built rides) have been junkers revived with lots of testicular enhancements hehe.

The neon was the best to date, when i first started running it, had a wicked top end to the motor, semi descent trans(atb diff, shifter, mounts etc) and a massive dent in the hood lol. that was great :p

And there's nothing wrong with either. ;)

nothing wrong with that. 2 years ago i was driving a 1993 acura integra with 49k miles. loved the car. ironicaly i believe older cars have better built quality than newer cars and are much more reliable. they can take a damn beating!

around my area, i always see young kids in bmw's, benz's, etc and i always think to myself how the hell can they afford it? it may be their parents car, or their parents bought it for them, or they just do drugs lol. but still. gets me a little ticked off lol i work hard for my money and i paid for my car straight cash from 2 years savings, and to think the kids just get a freebie like that. sigh whatever lol.

and dont forget, most people that have nice cars are leases, so they arent losing on depreciation. people who buy out nice cars dont care about taking a loss cause they probably arent planning to sell it.

A fifteen year old car with 49K miles? Nice.

But I catch a lot of shit from people when they see me driving my parents' cars. They act like I don't know where the money for it came from. I don't flaunt it, I even get hesitant when someone asks me what I drive.

So while you might come across some young pricks, not all of us youngsters driving nice cars are assholes like them. Also, most of us didn't buy the car and only some of us know it. So... it goes both ways in this situation and a lot of times there's a misunderstanding where one thinks the other is being arrogant while the other side is actually quite humble.

You are right, most nice cars are leased and financed.

But leasing doesn't mean you aren't losing on depreciation. In fact, leasing is the worst financial route you can take.

What you are doing is paying a significant amount to RENT the car. You can only drive so many miles (pay extra if you go over). Then after the 3 years, you have to give it back. You will get charged if there are scratches and other obvious wears. Then you will pay a lease termination fee.

Do you want to keep it? Then you have to finance it or pay a balloon payment which is typically still about half the cost of the original MSRP.

Yuk. Just do yourself a favor and finance or buy a reasonable used car. Then you will own it within a year or two (or right away if you saved up).

If you buy a reasonable used car at a really good price because a dealer is desperate, then you can almost sell it for the same price a couple years later! Just make sure you get it checked out by a mechanic or live in a lemon law state and have done research on past experiences of the model.

this is actually what I am doing, my uncle owned a dealer and went out of business so I got my 2007 cobalt for 4k with 40k miles, its current trade in value is closer to 6k. if it wasnt for the price I never would have got the balt, just too slow

dude that's awesome. Who cares if you don't have the hottest car.

You are now financially wise and can save your money for other nice things like a down payment on a house.

You STOLE that car. If you get a really good job or whatever in a couple years, you could probably still sell it for 4k and then upgrade to a faster car meanwhile not having lost a penny (minus gas, oil changes, brake pads). Assuming you don't drive 20-30k miles a year.
