Acceleration is not the best, but it moves through NYC faster than just abut anything.![]()
I don't even wanna tell you what I went through installing headers. I'm an avid nismo fan. Always have been and always will be. I just can't get away from my v8 obsession. There's no replacement for displacement.
On a side note, g35 was one of the sexiest cars to loom at. I don't like the g37 at all
yea, installing headers on the VQ engines are a PITA. i heard it can take up to like 6 hours just to get them on.
No $hit, whats it run in the quarter mile, 12.6?
i would think faster as i've made mid 12 passes in my buddys 06 gto w/ a shifter and intake...
Track temp was 81, air temp was 68, relative humidity was 40%, slight tailwind around 3kts sustained, englishtown and I've got about 15 years of brackets and 4 years of pro mod under my belt hehe.I'll see if the owner got video of the run, pet sure he has the slips.
i have to do it, it is because i am an old man now.
i drive a 140,000 mile 96 dakota. its ugly and paid for.
2 types of people own nice cars;
- poor (in debt) people who want to look like they aren't broke when they are
- people who actually have the money and have so much of it that they are willing to put it into a depreciating asset that only costs more and more money.
that said, i love looking at nice cars!
carry on....

nothing wrong with that. 2 years ago i was driving a 1993 acura integra with 49k miles. loved the car. ironicaly i believe older cars have better built quality than newer cars and are much more reliable. they can take a damn beating!
around my area, i always see young kids in bmw's, benz's, etc and i always think to myself how the hell can they afford it? it may be their parents car, or their parents bought it for them, or they just do drugs lol. but still. gets me a little ticked off lol i work hard for my money and i paid for my car straight cash from 2 years savings, and to think the kids just get a freebie like that. sigh whatever lol.
and dont forget, most people that have nice cars are leases, so they arent losing on depreciation. people who buy out nice cars dont care about taking a loss cause they probably arent planning to sell it.

You are right, most nice cars are leased and financed.
But leasing doesn't mean you aren't losing on depreciation. In fact, leasing is the worst financial route you can take.
What you are doing is paying a significant amount to RENT the car. You can only drive so many miles (pay extra if you go over). Then after the 3 years, you have to give it back. You will get charged if there are scratches and other obvious wears. Then you will pay a lease termination fee.
Do you want to keep it? Then you have to finance it or pay a balloon payment which is typically still about half the cost of the original MSRP.
Yuk. Just do yourself a favor and finance or buy a reasonable used car. Then you will own it within a year or two (or right away if you saved up).
If you buy a reasonable used car at a really good price because a dealer is desperate, then you can almost sell it for the same price a couple years later! Just make sure you get it checked out by a mechanic or live in a lemon law state and have done research on past experiences of the model.
this is actually what I am doing, my uncle owned a dealer and went out of business so I got my 2007 cobalt for 4k with 40k miles, its current trade in value is closer to 6k. if it wasnt for the price I never would have got the balt, just too slow
