For those of you who have never owned an android phone, here is a tip I used to use on my Droid Eris.
Disable "Always on Data"
Key Press:
MENU -> SETTINGS -> WIRELESS & NETWORKS -> MOBILE NETWORKS
Un-Check "Enable Always on Mobile Data"
Done.
What this setting does is turns off the 3G/4G connection about 5 minutes after your phone screen is off. If you arent using any apps that rely on 24/7 data connection then this setting is for you.
As soon as you wake your phone up, it re-connected 3G/4G and your phone works like normal.
NOTE: This setting being off has no effect on Phone Calls or Receiving Text Messages. You will still receive both while phone is in standby/screen off.
The only time you WANT to have data as ALWAYS ON is when you are using apps like Skype, Pandora or other apps that use Data Connection when your phone is in standby. If you disable always on, they will not be able to reach you until you wake your phone up.
This is a HUGE battery saver especially on the Thunderbolt.
Enjoy!
