Post Your Last Purchase

I purchased a bulk lot of 45 singles a couple of weeks ago and there are some absolute gems in there. Some of these are DJ promo issues and never publicly released... but I read this and thought, "damn that looks familiar!" I know for a fact that I have some singles of The Mark IV... but that one, I'll have to rummage through them all but if I have it, it sold on discogs this past year for $7,000.
 
New awkward trying to slide off the plastic off the bic disposable razors, and new shaving cream, deorderant by Dr. Squash.
A bottle of lemonade.
 
Wow, you're down to Bic disposables? Get an old-school safety razor. The blades are sharp and provide a much closer shave; they're pennies each instead of dollars each for cartridges (even cheaper than a Bic); and they're recyclable steel. And the Darling Bride LOVES my perfectly smooth face.

I have used bic for ages on end though.. For about thirty years or so.. Where should I get the old school safety one buddy?
 
New ones are being manufactured by many companies, including Merkur (I have one). I lucked into my daily driver, however: a twist-to-open, adjustable Gillette Aristocrat, factory plated in 22kt gold, with a date code showing it was manufactured the same summer of 1962 I was born! However, there are plenty of razors to choose from... and even more BLADE brands. I bought a few variety packs and tried blades from around the world. I settled on the Personna blades as the best shave and value, while being forgiving (ie, not bleeding profusely with each little slip). However: check with local antique shops, ask online and look at estate sales. You'd be surprised what you can find out there.

I have a package of disposable razors at the cabin. They have been down there a decade or so and haven't been tapped yet. I suspect they would do in a pinch though I've never used one.
A cabin is no place to be shaving.
 
Used a Bic once to make things a little more "clear for landing", had razor burn for weeks.

Only shaved the "Clear for landing" area about every spell or three. Besides no one knows how much it grows, eh.. sometimes not worth it.
 
I drove into Wichita to the mega liquor store to buy the beer I like. My local store hasn't had them for a couple of weeks and say that their supplier is out with nothing definite when they might be restocked. The mega store only had five six packs and they were not in a cooler. I didn't get my old fart discount so a twenty mile trip one way to buy hot beer seemed a bit over the top.
 
I love looking at the stars and planets in the sky: the Darling Bride's 15x70 binoculars are great for terrestrial viewing (she likes to watch her birdies and critters); but they're awful at astronomy. I wanted a set that would (a) really get out there and (b) suck in a lot of light doing it.

I wasn't really prepared for these, though: I figured they'd be twice as big as hers, but these Celestron Skymaster 25x100s are a MONSTER! At 9.6 pounds, this is definitely a tripod mount... so now my challenge will be to find a suitable tripod that can support not only the binoculars, but the counterweight.

I had an eleven inch go-to Celestron telescope when my last two kids were growing up. It was a great sky tool with excellent optics. I bet you are more than pleased with your purchase.
 
I bought some warmer warm riding gear for my bike. I got a set of pogies and a warmer balaclava than I have. I also bought a helmet mount rear view mirror to replace my bar mounted mirror that I will have to take off to accommodate the pogies I have ordered.
 
My newest purchase is a rig to hold these binoculars: a Davis & Sanford ProVista 100 tripod (rated for 80 pounds); and a custom-made parallelogram binocular mount that I can use to sweep the sky and view comfortably from a seated (or even reclined in a lounge chair) position. Should make for some spectacular viewing!
