The grass maybe greener, but is it worth the $300+ for the phone and resetting the monthly fees up to $55 a month? Even if by Xmas I decide to make the plunge to the Evo, my wife will inherit my Prevail. To be honest, I say screw the Evo, and if we do a mass exodus, it should be for a new underappreciated phone that has a $150 or less price tag. Thats what makes me love the Prevail. The devs here made this "entry level smart phone" into a beast. I make my friends jealous with thier contract phone that they pay $120 a month for, and I got my suped up no contract phone that Im currently paying $40 a month for. Another thing about the Evo, I dont know if its been reported yet, but I bet it costs another $10 month to use the 4G.

I am of the same mind; I came to Boost to lower my costs.

I have read that currently no 4G fee is planned but speeds may be throttled for excessive use.

For us grandfathered Prevail users, we will only pay a Android surcharge $5 upon upgrade, you do not reset. I will be at $40 in 2 months and if I upgrade it will be $45.

Most likely I will wait for the second wave of 4G phones and/or prices to drop before I upgrade.
 
I also agree with voltron, people buy boost phones for the value, not the prestige. And I'd argue that theres probably no prepaid phone that runs as well as our prevail. Especially at that price. I think if any phone threatens the prevail, its the $80 LG reflex, since many of the new customers only got the prevail because it was the least-expensive android phone at the time.

I think if something bad happens to my prevail, I may upgrade to the marquee. But it would be a hard decision :(
 
I think I'm fine where I'm at. True the device is enticing but I'm not going to get 4g where I live and I do not travel much to other areas to warrant the device.

The price is going to stay the same. $55 a month for the device. The extra $10 is if you want wifi tethering on the phone. Someone will be along shortly after the device is released and root it and the extra $10 will only be for the folks who are not in the know.

I'm also on the grandfathered $50 plan. I'm one payment away from sweet $35. I'm not giving up my spot for some eye candy. I already have the fancy device that I wanted. I do not need to upgrade at all.

Boost is not going to see me stand in line to get the device and then pay an extra $5 to have it. I'll be fine.

I do not think the LG reflex poses a threat. It is a feature phone while the Prevail is an android phone. To the person who understands that, the Prevail is superior. But your assessment is true. It is the phone that poses the largest threat because it goes with your other assessment, people on Boost are in it for the value not the prestige.

The Prevail is superior for another reason. As much as it irks me to admit this in the open, and I'm sure it'll come to haunt me later on. We have Angry Birds!

Wait, so I look like a fool because I show off my prevail and what it can do to people?

My favorite is the iProduct users.

"Look at what all my android phone can do"
"Wow, that's kinda cool. It must cost a good bit for an Android that can outperform my iPhone like that."
"Actually, this is the bottom of the barrel Android phone. They only go up from here"

Well the $5 price increase is good news to me as I made the grandfathered rule by 1month.

So there may not be an extra fee for 4G, but data throttle is a gimme. I mean look at how our 3G data rates are. Im like most users, I get DL speeds anywhere from 50kb/s up to 1.2mb/s. It all depends on time of day, the phase of the moon and how many planes are scooting around. Point is, even though its on Sprints network, Boost gets the data leftovers. Thats ok, cause thank God for WiFi.

Back to the threads real topic though, I think if we get a couple more good designs, we should have a vote/poll to decide the winning sticker. I cant wait for this plan to come through and have us rocking our Prevail stickers.

The pirate one.. I think its got too much.
Our prevails are simple yet strong and i think that's something we should incorporate into our sticker, don't you guys agree?

Our prevails are not flashers they are doers.
They arnt all show.

the plan deosn't cost a $5 upgrade...that's if moving to android from say sanyo garbage.. and android plans only get as low as.....$40 no less.. i paid that $5 fee moving from the clutch to the prevail

nah. it'll drop if you started the shrinkage plan early enough. i got in while it was still $50 unlimited and i'm on my way to $35. changing devices now will get my plan 'upgraded' to the 'android unlimited' or whatever it's called and $5 tacked on.

This is just a real quick/rough graphic I threw together to throw out there for folks to input there ideas/thoughts. I have a niece who is in the graphics buss and am sure I could get her to whip up some stickers.

Im willing to make the graphic and have some stickers made if your all interested.

@instagator My original thought was combined with rarewolfs idea for letters. It would be his lettering layered over the superuser pirate skull and bones. Your pic incorporates both ideas, but with your own flavor. I do like your pic a lot, and the only real change I would add is to ditch the cartoony looking pirate for the superuser android-pirate.
