This is long. PLEASE read the whole thing anyway (especially you Jeff and BC). There is no summary that does it justice, other than perhaps a reminder that the election is about far more than the just the President.

I am not a Republican as he is (I'm not a member of any party) but I profoundly agree with much of what he has to say.

"In the end, you must be pragmatic enough to realize “liberal” and “conservative” are just words without any real meaning and true freedom is not allowing those empty words to dictate your choices."

PS. I have come to the conclusion that Hillary is actually Hermione Granger. Draw your own conclusions.

Was a nice read at first but I believe it was blatantly false in the claim that "we've been failing under Republican leadership for the last 30yrs.." Obama is 8yrs of Democratic time, Clinton is another 8 yrs of Democratic time.. That 16yrs difference alone shows the writer's reality distortion. The article started out rightfully blasting Hillary for near everything she's done, then went on a fantasy tirade of trying to justify voting for Hillary anyways. That lack of intelligence kinda pissed me off.. Like proving a case of murder in court and giving the accused a reward instead

In which case... I respectfully submit that you entirely missed the point he was making.

National poll: Trump now leads Clinton by 1 point

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has overtaken Democratic rival Hillary Clinton for the first time since May in the ABC News/Washington Post tracking poll.

Trump has a 1-point lead over the former secretary of State, 46 to 45 percent, as of Tuesday morning.

Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson registers at a new low of 3 percent, while Green Party nominee Jill Stein rounds out the field with 2 percent.

Fifty-three percent of likely voters have "strong enthusiasm" for Trump, according to the poll, while 45 percent feel the same about Clinton.

Clinton led Trump by 1 point, 46 percent to 45 percent, in the same poll over the weekend. She held a 12-point lead, 50 to 38 percent, in the poll just more than one week ago.

You may indeed be correct.. [emoji28]
Read it again... He's referring to the leadership of the republican party... And the way they have been running the party for the last 30 years.
This is still something I'm not understanding. Because with all due respect, if that's the case:
- Opinions of previous Republican party leadership seems moot when we've actually been under a Democratic leadership for a while, which has been nothing but increasingly scandalous each time (and now still ongoing). [emoji12]
In other words, I must be REALLY missing something

^^Yup lol.

BTW, if the philosophy of past Republicans - a party which still actively includes those same policies as part of their platform, and regularly extols Reaganomics as the Holy Grail of political genius - is moot and irrelevant, WHY DO ANTI-CLINTONITES THINK IT IS OK TO CONTINUE BLAMING HRC FOR HER HUSBAND'S ACTIONS TWENTY FIVE YEARS AGO??!!!!!! (Fun facts: 1. He is not running for office 2. she is not responsible for husband's actions past, presentt, or future 3. The "party of family values" which advocates that women should "stand by their man" is outraged that she did exactly what they claim to encourage?! Hypocrisy at its finest.....)

BTW, you'll look long and hard to find any "scandal" during Obama's tenure. The man has personally been a pillar of integrity and dignity, despite being handed an economic and international sh** sandwich in 2008, and suffered every small-minded bigot in the country trying to discredit him ever since, against all the odds.

Wow... It's been a long time since someone posted something in a forum that nearly made me fall off my chair.

Short answer...YES you are really missing something very big... And I'm struggling to find a way to point it out without snark or condescension.

I'm going to take the cowards way out and ask a couple of questions instead... Which should answer the question of what you're missing

What do you think is the purpose of the second party* (which isn't in power) in the United States?

What would be the consequences if they failed in that role?

What responsibility does the party leadership have to make sure that it fulfills that role?

*remember it could be Democrat or Republican

That's something (the hating on someone trying to stand by their spouse) in fact that occasionally has me scratching my head but have come to attribute to political mudslinging as both sides make personal hits. But I'm thinking the repeated mentioning of such dereliction is a reference to depth of the potential issues the Clintons pose as a whole, not just one or the other.. They'll BOTH have control of the White House. Hillary has become the epitome of political corruption from everything I've witnessed growing up.

Ty- Andy, cuz that truly was a real question:

1. To have a different opinion to balance out the 1st party's choices.

2. Domination of the other party, leading to the over saturation of bias...
.... .. ...ohhhh. [emoji23]

3. Umm.. "Vote for Me..??

With all due repect, you're beating the wrong part of rug. If the only thing you can think of is "Clinton emails" for Hillary, then you sir are missing some detailed points as well. The emails aren't "just emails" but actually contain proof of her ongoing treachery for years. You can call Nightshade a daisy all you want but proof & documented history shows what it's true purpose is.. It's still nightshade no matter what you try to paint it.

Has anyone seen this email content? If not, how do you know they contain proof of treachery? Do they leak classified information to the Russians?

how do you know they contain proof of treachery?

No-one does because they clearly don't. In fact, there has never been any suggestion of treachery. The issue is the mishandling of classified information. That is completely different to treachery: running the risk of exposing classified information to a foreign power is entirely different to deliberately assisting a foreign power in doing damage to your country.

Whatever Hillary did or did not do, a very thorough investigation came to the conclusion that no prosecution was warranted.

Some additional e-mails have now come to light among Weiner's e-mails. It seems highly improbable that they could involve treachery either, given that, despite his myriad faults, Weiner has never been accused of being an agent of a foreign power. Nor, so far as I'm aware, has he ever urged a foreign security service to intervene in a US election. Unlike some.

The announcement that the investigation was to be re-opened appears to be a blatant attempt by James Comey to interfere in the election - something everyone hoped the FBI no longer did.
