PRL Update For Poor Signal For Incredible..

Probably needs antenna fluid or something

Where do you get that? I've already called Verizon, Home Depot, and Walmart.

They all think I'm an idiot.

But I'll get the last laugh as I poor it into my 3mm headjack and I'm soaring at -40. Suckers.

Hate to say this but *228 is going to do nothing for the signal strength on the Incredible, not to mention when you got the phone and did the *228 option #1 it updated the PRL anyways... Its either a hardware problem (MOST LIKELY) or software related (doubtful). Either way call quality plain old sucks on the incredible...

Not sure why people are shting on doing a PRL update so much. If the updated list actually has any changes that impact your area, you could indeed see results. If not, you've lost nothing.

And, as has been mentioned several times here, there obviously has been an update since this phone was launched since many of us were on an older version.

And clearly people in Altel areas need to look into it further, since it seems the 228 update still doesn't add all of their towers and there is more they need to do.

Is it going to make your signal stronger to the existing towers you connect to? Of course not. But, if it adds new towers in areas you frequent that were not in the previous list, you could certainly see better signal in those areas.

but, its not the signal loss that many of us are suffereing with; its horrible call quality..

my signal is between -70 and -80, all the time, and the calls still sound horrible; its not for lack of signal; I am in suburban chicago, where verizon coverage is great..

I just got off the phone with Home Depot, they said that they now are aware of the antenna liquid, but only if you "pour" it into your phone, they said "poor"ing it into your phone will result in less money in your verizon acct.

For the win !

The issue is again the R in PRL. ROAMING. If VZW adds towers in your area, you don't need a PRL to use them. The only case where this helps is if you live in an area with crappy VZW coverage and roam on Alltell/Sprint or other carriers. For anybody in a dense VZW coverage area, the PRL does squat.

Let me ask this a different way. Why would you NOT update your PRL list?
