So of course im rooted and all that good stuff. But i got one question fellow android heads. It is safe for me to update my PRL right? Someone previously asked this question before i think. I vaguely remember this being brought up before. So im I safe to update? because the update popped up on my phone the other day and i just pressed cancel cuz I didnt remember if something would happen. Right now i have this version 60676. Talk to me family....

You're good. Updating your PRL will not affect you being rooted in any way. PRL = Preferred Roaming List. It is a list of system ID's that the carrier has agreements with. Like mdizzle said, it has nothing do to with you being rooted.

always updte your data afterwards.... do confirm that you have a different prl than 60676...that "was" the most current as of last week but I haven't been able to keep up with anything but work lately

It is safe to update PRL and profile, just stay away from HTC software and firmware. Also if you want to be extra safe go the the HTC software update section and make sure "Scheduled Check" is turned off.

Yeah we are pretty good at letting people know when there is an update, and xda is pretty good at getting a version of it out for us to use.

I believe the most current PRL is still 60676.

Thats what i have.

I noticed while roaming (i use roaming a lot) that my texts are coming in with the correct time label. Jebus its about time they fixed that. Im on 76 and the download speeds are still throttled to about 150k, which is fine because im usually on wifi... and if im out i dont really use 3g for downloading, just for yahoo messenger. So works for me.

anyone know where i can find that prl, 60677... i tried the sprintverizon prl and am now in data roaming and cannot figure out how to get back to this prl... having a brain fart, can't find "update prl" on my phone... menu / settings / about phone...??? no update prl...
TIA

ok, jumped the gun there i guess... restored a back up, then allowed prl to update after... now back to 60677... reflashing ROM right now... silly me, get all nervous sometimes... :o

If you were on an AOSP rom, there is no option to update PRL. Restoring a sense rom to do it is the only way unless you can find a zip file for it.

Ahhhh, theres 1 downside to an AOSP rom.... been lookin for a downside for some time now lol Theres a forum discussion about the zip files, but i couldnt get it to install... said install aborted :( sad face

Its under updates in settings.
If you want the list of PRLs, here is a site that has all of the sprint ones for download, and i assume you know how to get them on the phone :)

PRLs - Windows Live

ah terrfiic i have been wondering abou tthis list for quite some time. Someone lost signal for a couple hours after installing a new prl and couldnt get back to the orig because they had no signal obviously. Now no worries you can just commit it like you do the other. thanks

No problem, just trying to help like so many have for me ;)

Here are instructions for anyone who needs to put a new PRL on:

Put the PRL file (anywhere) on your sd card..
Open dialer, and press ##775# (you may have to press send)
Enter your MSL (you can get this from an app in the market)
Press "update PRL"
Select the one you want and press ok
Then press Menu>Commit Modifications and let the phone reboot
