Root Problem after flashing a new rom

Okay, I have had my Evo rooted for a while now and have flashed many roms with no problems. I did the TacoRoot (with s-off) and no watermark. Today I found the Skunk Piss AOKP rom and really liked to so I tried to flash it and it completed way to fast. So when I rebooted it went back into the rom I had before (cyanogenmod 7). So I redownloaded the aokp rom and tried again. Once again it went by way to fast (like 5-10 seconds) so I rebooted it again just to check. This time the phone vibrated 4 times and the LED flashed green repeatedly. Now that is all it will do unless it is plugged up to the computer. But even if it is plugged up to the computer it will not read the SD card, at all. So I cannot restore a nandroid back up or flash anything.

I don't think I have bricked it because it does work if it is plugged up. How do I fix this? Also I have tried a different SD card to make sure my SD card wasn't damaged and it did NOT read the new card. Thank you for your help!

Can you get to recovery at all?

What happens when you hold down the vol up button while holding down power?

the bootloader is the only thing I can get into without it being plugged up to the computer. I can do anything when it is plugged up to the computer... for some reason. But if it is unplugged I can get to boatloader but if I try to go to recovery or just turn it on normally it just does what I described.

I hate to tell you to do something that might screw you up worse.

wondering if you should try to re install Recovery though?

Here is the one that ocn is using to try to help Dave in his Bootloop thread, supposed to be for S-on.

Let's see what ocn or Mikey have to say. Or biker57?

the only problem with that is it won't read the SD card, of any kind. So I can't install recovery or anything.

I'm curious as to what exactly was trying to be flashed in the first place.
Maybe the op thought he was flashing the rom.zip, when in fact it was something else?

It would be interesting to know what he was trying to flash....maybe he can provide a link to what he was using for us to take a look at.

what exactly does the bootloader say?

also try this fix for your sd card not being detected:

The boatloader says what it always said except the "s-off" is now "s-on".

well, I am not sure that my idea is what you need.

If it were, though, you could put the recovery on the card in the pc and then put it back in.

Ocn is saying it sounds like a hellacious problem he had here though, http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/504184-omg-me-evo-alive.html

Definitely do not understand what they did to fix it though!

HA! Ocn in Red ninja'd the dickens out of me!

yeah, everything I have read says it's broken and they had to take it back and get it replaced.

here is the page i got the file from. I just went to recovery, wiped everything, and flashed from sd.

ok so lets get the sd card fix. try that first. can you boot up? and you did say no recovery, right?

Well before I couldn't get into recover, the only thing I could do was boatloader. But then I my friend put the PC36IMG.zip file on the SD card and when we went into boatloader it updated and now we can go into recovery. I'm not sure how stable it is yet.

okay, it won't stop updating the PC36IMG.zip thing. I can't get it to stop. Every time I go to the boatloader it updates it and then wants to reboot.
