Root Problem after flashing a new rom

yeah sorry you need to either delete it or remove it. i keep forgetting that step....lol

I believe there is the option to choose "no" to reboot, then you can choose "recovery" in bootloader.

Okay, one sec, I have to get another phone to remove the file. I tried hitting "no" but then it goes to to check again and tries to update it again. It's like an endless cycle of stupidity. haha.

Okay, I got it deleted and went into recover but I have an examination mark inside a triangle. Nothing has changed on the boatloader screen. Something interesting happened though, instead of the cyanogenmod boat screen, it did the stock sprint boat animation... not sure how that got back in there. Also the whole stock rom is back. Is that because of the PC36IMG file?

Yes, the pc36img file flashed the rom and recovery back to stock

not sure really......weird. i think you have confused the phone when you flashed the wrong rom.

ok so what exactly does the bootloader say? what is your hboot now? what baseband do you have?

I wasn't sure what baseband was so I just copied everything in the boatloader screen. It seems like it is no longer rooted.

wow that is weird. ok it does appear that you might be unrooted somehow. or that the bootloader is confused and is displaying the wrong info.

it is something similar to what i went thru when i almost bricked my phone.

did you have s-off initially? or were you unlocked only?

yeah, i did the TacoRoot method and had s-off. Should I just do the rooting process again?

Really? will that have the same results? No watermark s-off? why would it not work when it worked last time?

well the bootloader is all confused first of all. it is hard to verify that what you have is real or not. i can't be positive on what is real or not. second, taco root will only work with a certain exploit. i'm not sure that it is present with what your hboot is currently showing. then again it might work if the bootloader is wrong.

i do not like the fact that taco root makes your phone unstable as it is already unstable as it is.

lets try unrevoked first.

here is the guide you want:

we can walk you thru it if you need it.

alright, I will give it a try. I agree about being uncomfortable about tacoroot making it more unstable. I forgot it made it unstable. I have confidence that I can make it through the unrevoked process with ease. Do you mind if I do it tomorrow night? I have to get up early in the morning and it's already late for me. But if you want/need me to do it tonight I can get over it.

whenever it is convenient for you. i should be around tomorrow night so it is all good. i'm probably one of the few who have used unrevoked that is still left hanging around these parts.....LOL

this is good also as it will give you time to read up on it.

Awesome, and you don't have to rush to check tomorrow. I have a working phone and that's all that matters right now. I was worried I would have to take it back to bestbuy and just pray that they would replace it with out questions. Even if I can never root it again I think I am just going to be happy I am not out $300.
