Help Problem: i7500 Randomly Shutting Itself Off

And I found something else about the battery. With 3G/GPRS/Wifi all turned off, no background data/synchronizing and screen auto-locking turned on, my galaxy will only eats about 1% battery in one hour; but if it idles for a long time (i.e, while i was sleeping at nights and no other one will use my phone), the battery will be consuming in an incredible speed, about 60% in 6 hours. I think maybe some programs are using CPU, but I cannot catch them.
sounds to me like you are putting it in the case when its sleeping, this holds the camera button down causing it to stay active and drains battery

as for your other problem, its likely to do with something youve installed or gps
i think a couple of people have noted that locality settings can cause reboots (wireless network location) keep gps and wireless network locations turned off when not in use

Any clues? I got my galaxy on Monday and it works well until the next day. I installed Big Planet, barcode scanner, rmaps, and offline google map files (~430MB), and updated to II4, but it shuts off while i was working. The battery should be reinstalled to make reboot possible. I tried rrautane's solution (killing every app before locking the screen) and it seemed to be effective. Now I think the phone may not wake up (and no response) under certain condition so I let my phone never lock the screen, it's battery consuming but gets no random shuts.

Sorry for my poor English. I really love this phone but something still needs to be solved....

Hi

Few days ago I updated from IH8 to II5 and my problems went away. I'm still testing but it seems that phone is much more stable. I also have pretty much same apps as before.

After update I have had one reboot but not any shutdowns. Uptime at the moment is 44 hours. Before update I would rarely get this far without shutdown.

I recommend updating to II5 as soon as possible.

greetings to everyone on the forum!

did anyone found out solution for turning offs?

here's my story:

when i got samsung i7500 galaxy it was turning off almost every day, sometimes few times in 1 day. i don't remember which baseband i had.

i put IH8 and it seemed much better, but after 3-4 days it turned off again. i had IH8 for few weeks and phone turned off 4-5 times..

i put IK5, had it only 2 days because of no sleep bug.

from today i'm again on IH8, i did factory reset before and after update (with odin)..first time when i put IH8 i did factory reset only after update).

regarding turning offs, sometimes it turns off totaly ( i have to remove battery and put it on again). sometimes it turns off in the way i "just" need to start it again with long press on end call button..

please, does anybody know 1.5 baseband version that for 100% doesn't have this turning off bug and no sleep bug?

i'm tired of factory reseting, changing basebands and restoring apps, data and settings.. :(

Had that problem as well.
Facroty reset didn't help me so I gave my cell carrier the phone for repair - they re-flashed it and now it's fine.
